THREE MEN INCLUDING TWO NOTORIOUS BAG LIFTERS ARRESTED FROM NEW DELHI RAILWAY STATION.
With the arrest of
three men including two notorious bag lifters and pickpocket in two separate
cases, the staff of PS New Delhi Railway Station has busted a network of a gang
of bag lifters and pick pockets operating at Railway Stations in Delhi.
The arrested persons
are as under:-

Sonu @ Rakesh s/o Ram Sevak r/o H.No. 335,
R-Block, Raghubir Nagar, New Delhi age- 30 years (old address H.No. 2603 Gali
No. 9, Chuna Mandi Paharganj, Delhi).

Shekhar Kumar s/o Prem Pal
r/o K-373, Jehangirpuri, Delhi aged 38 years (old address H.No. 536 Mandirwali
Gali, Mukimpura, Subzi Mandi, Delhi).
(3)
Santosh Yadav s/o
Sh. Shibu Yadav r/o village Khiriwai PS and district Saharsa, Bihar age- 35
years present address Vagabound in Delhi.
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION:-
In the first incident, on 29.6.16 HC Yad Ram No. 105/RM and Ct. Satish
Kumar No. 562/RM posted at PS New Delhi Railway Station were on patrolling duty
at Ajmeri Gate side. About 5:05 PM they
heard the shouting of public regarding thief.
They saw a person running away from Enquiry Counter, Ajmeri Gate side of
New Delhi Railway Station. Both the
police personnel chased immediately and nabbed him and discovered that he was
running after pickpocket of mobile from a passenger. The apprehended person was identified as Santosh Yadav s/o Sh. Shibu Yadav r/o village Khiriwai PS and district
Saharsa, Bihar age- 35 years present address Vagabound in Delhi. On the complaint of passenger Sh. Bablu Kumar
s/o Sh. Bhugendra Saini r/o Village- Dehpura, PS Kevati, district Darbhanga,
Bihar a case vide FIR No. 726/16 u/s- 379/411 IPC PS NDRS was registered.
In the second incident, HC Jai Bhagwan
No. 100/RM and Ct. Vijay No. 688/RM were on patrolling duty on 29.6.16 in New
Delhi Railway Station. Around 9:40 PM they saw two men coming from parking at
Ajmeri Gate side. On seeing the police
personnel they stop for a while and started going back quickly. On getting suspicion both the police
personnel responded quickly and nabbed both of them after a chase. On conducting a search a button operated
knife was found from possession of each.
The names of both the nabbed persons were revealed as (1) Sonu @ Rakesh s/o Ram
Sevak r/o H.No. 335, R-Block, Raghubir Nagar, New Delhi age- 30 years (old
address H.No. 2603 Gali No. 9, Chuna Mandi Paharganj, Delhi) & (2) Shekhar Kumar s/o Prem Pal
r/o K-373, Jehangirpuri, Delhi aged 38 years (old address H.No. 536 Mandirwali
Gali, Mukimpura, Subzi Mandi, Delhi). A
cases vide FIR No. 727/16 dt. 29.6.16 u/s- 25/54/59 Arms Act PS New Delhi
Railway Station was registered. On
interrogation both the accused persons stated that they are involved in the
crime of pick pocket, bag lifting, snatching in different railway stations in
Delhi/New Delhi. On further
interrogation it was revealed that both of them are previously involved in
several cases of theft and snatching.

No. 9, Chuna Mandi Paharganj, Delhi):
On interrogation he stated that he has
studied up to primary school and involved in the crime of pick pocketing and
bag lifting for last 15 years. In this criminal profession he came in contact
with several pickpockets and bag lifters in Delhi and presently he was
committing these thefts with co accused Shekhar. On 29.6.16 both of them had come together to
New Delhi Railway Station to operate but were caught by police. They use to
keep the knife with them to threat the people or use it when required. Sonu @
Rakesh is previously involved in 10 criminal cases as below:

On interrogation he stated that he is
illiterate and involved in the crime of pick pocketing and bag lifting for last
20 years. In this criminal profession he came in contact with several
pickpockets and bag lifters in Delhi and presently he was committing these
thefts with co accused Sonu @ Rakesh. On
29.6.16 both of them had come together to New Delhi Railway Station to operate
but were caught by police. They use to keep the knife with them to threat the
people or use it when required. Accused Shekhar is previously involved in 5
criminal cases as below:

On interrogation he
stated that he was born in his village in Bihar. He is illiterate, married and blessed by six
children out of which 4 daughters and 2 sons.
Due to poverty he could not meet the basic needs of his family and came
to Delhi to work as labour. He came to
Delhi and started living on footpath and did the labour job. For the last several days he could not get
any work due to which he thought to pickpocket the mobile phone from the
passenger at New Delhi Railway Station. On 29.6.16 when he was doing the same
but caught by the police.
For such act both accused were arrested in the
above mentioned case with the sincere efforts and supervision of a team of
Delhi Police (GRP), Delhi under the supervision of Sh. G.S. Meena,
ACP/Railways/ND and over all supervision of Sh. Milind Dumbere DCP/Railways,
Delhi.
After interrogation all
the above three accused persons were produced before the Ld. MM and thereafter
have been sent to judicial custody.
