Gang of robbers cum snatchers busted : 5 accused persons including receiver of looted phones arrested

To curb the incidents of robbery and snatching by motor cycle borne criminals, South District Police on the intervening night of 19/20.06.16, conducted simultaneous intensive checking by deploying pickets at strategic locations in all the police stations.  A team of PS Vasant Vihar was also deployed at Jia Sarai on Olof Palme Marg towards IGI Airport and the police team comprising of SI Ranbir Singh, SI Sita Ram, HC Parmod, Ct. Sampat and Ct. Rambr under supervision of Inspr. Somnath Paruthi, SHO/Vasant Vihar had arrested two criminals namely Faique @ Chumbak @ Ayan, age 20 years s/o Shahid r/o A-313, Gali No. 5, Chauhan Bangar, New Seelampur, Delhi and Ashif @ Shanu, age 20 years S/o Sharif R/o E-13A/288, Chauhan Bangar, New Seelampur, Delhi after a chase while they were riding on a motor cycle.  Their third accomplice managed to escape from the spot.  On search, two country made pistols and two live cartridges were recovered from their possession. On verification, the motor cycle (make Puslar) was found to be robbed from the area of PS Moti Nagar, Delhi.  A case vide FIR No. 693/16 u/s 25/27/54/59 Arms Act dated 20/06/16 was registered at PS Vasant Vihar and investigation taken up. 

Interrogation :

During interrogation, accused persons disclosed name of their associate as Sharik r/o New Seelampur, Delhi.  Accused Faique @ Chumbak @ Ayan and Ashif @ Shanu were sent in judicial custody.  The police team continued its efforts to nab accused Sharik and kept watch at his possible hideouts but in order to avoid catch by police, he kept on hiding and did not visit his home.  During this period, the police team came to know that accused Sharik has been arrested by PS Darya Gang, Central District in Arms Act case vide case FIR No. 266/16 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act.  The production warrant of accused Sharik, age 24 years s/o Nasim Ahmad r/o-A-57, New Seelampur, Delhi was obtained from the court and his one day police custody remained was obtained. 

During interrogation, accused Sharik disclosed to have committed series of snatching and robbery during late night hours along with his associates.  At the instance of accused Sharik, 11 expensive of phones which they had snatched / robbed from different part of South Delhi were recovered.  Accused further disclosed that they used to rob 8/10 mobile phones daily.  Accused Sharik disclosed to have disposed off the robbed / snatched mobiles to one Amit Gulati @ Rinku who runs a kiosk in the Gaffar Market, Delhi.

          In order arrest Amit Gulati @ Rinku, the police team kept continued surveillance in the Gaffar Market and his possible hideouts but he kept on hiding to avoid catch by police.  The continued efforts of police team yielded result and receiver of robbed / snatched property namely Amit Gulati @ Rinku, age 32 years s/o Late Satpal Gulati r/o WZ-39, Ramgarh Colony, Moti Nagar, Delhi was arrested from Mehar Chand Market, Lodhi Colony when he came to meet one of his friends.  During interrogation, at the instance of accused Amit Gulati, 239 mobile phones of different makes and models, 41 partially dismantled phone / mother boards, 102 mobile batteries were recovered.

Special Task Force, South District :

          In an another incident, the team of STF, South District comprising SI Proshun, HCs Suresh, Ramesh, Narender, Cts. Anil and Sandeep led by Inspr. Vijay Singh Chandel, I/C STF/SD under the overall supervision of Sh. Sanjay Bhatia, Addl. DCP/South District arrested 3 accused persons namely Pradeep Kumar, age 38 years s/o Dharam Singh r/o 241, Gali No. 1, Jeetpur Colony, Murad Nagar, UP, Sonu Ansari, age 23 years s/o Mohd. Ayub r/o 16/794, E-Block, Bapa Nagar, Tank Road, Karol Bagh, Delhi and Sarang Singh, age 22 years s/o Raghu Raj Singh r/o 79, Pipraudh Anapur, Nawabganj, Allahabad, UP and recovered 9 stolen phones from their possession.

          During interrogation, accused persons disclosed to have stolen a mobile phone carton (make Videocon Raga containing 40 mobile phones) from the Cargo at IGI Airport on 01.07.16.  On verification, it was found that a case vide FIR No. 245/16 u/s 379 IPC was registered at PS IGI Airport.  During interrogation, it was revealed that accused Sonu Ansari has sold 22 mobile phone on OLX.  Further investigation is in progress to obtain the details of buyers of stolen mobile phones and to recover the stolen mobile phones.

Imposter IPS Officer Arrested; an Academic Who Became a Cheat to Realize His Dream Unfulfilled

A team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Rahul Sawhney and Sanjay Kumar has arrested a cheat who impersonated as an IPS officer to cheat several persons in Delhi. On 23/02/2015,one Kultar Singh,s/o Late Raj Singh, r/o F-10, Gali No.2, Krishna Park, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi who runs a shop dealing with sale purchase of mobile phones in Gaffar Market of Karolbagh, Delhi made a complaint stating therein that a person in the name of ‘Satheesh Nair’ who had introduced himself as an IPS officer of Jaipur, Rajasthan, had come to his shop on 30/01/2015 and had purchased two mobile phones in exchange of two old phones by paying an amount of money.
