INTERSTATE GANG OF HIGHWAY DACOITS BUSTED

In a major breakthrough, Crime Branch has busted an interstate gang of highway dacoits and arrested four members of the gang (i) Sandeep @ Sandy (28 yrs) s/o Kartar Singh, r/o Vill. Ritoli, PS Sadar, Rohtak, Haryana (ii) Sombir @ Khabba @ Lala (30 yrs) s/o Ram Phal, r/o Bali Angadpur, Distt. Rohtak, Haryana (iii) Jasbir Singh (42 yrs) s/o Sansar Singh, r/o H. No. WZ-20, Plot No. 15, Ravi Nagar, Vishnu Garden, Delhi (iv) Manmohan Singh @ Mona (43 yrs) s/o Sardar Ajeet Singh, r/o A-5/61, Sector-18, Rohini, Delhi from Najafgarh area including the gang leader and two receivers of looted goods following recovery of a robbed truck loaded with looted bicycle accessories worth Rs.70 lac approximately.

          Accused persons have disclosed their involvement in total 5 cases of robberies/dacoities of loaded trucks  in last 2-3 months on different highways of Rohtak, Sonipat, Jhajjar and Rewari districts of Haryana and used to dispose off the looted goods in different markets in West Delhi.

INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION: -

          On 09.07.2016, HC Govind Singh posted in SWR, Crime Branch received a secret information that the members of a gang of highway dacoits, who are involved in several highway robberies of trucks etc, would come near Wine Shop, Nangali Sakravati, Najafgarh to dispose off the stolen goods. This information was further developed and a core team of Crime Branch led by ACP Sanjay Sehrawat consisting of Inspr. Yashpal Singh, SI Kuldeep, ASI Vikrant, HCs Govind Singh, Randhawa, Bhoop Singh, Mahesh Tyagi, Satpal Singh, Yogender and Cts Dharmender, Ravinder, Gangadhar, Rahul and Deepak was constituted to nab the criminals under close supervision of DCP Bhisham Singh.

           A trap was laid near expected place of their arrival and at about 10:20 PM, all the four accused persons were successfully apprehended by the team near Wine Shop, Nangli Sakravati, Najafgarh area while they came in truck No. PB10 BD 9195 for disposal of looted goods. On preliminary interrogation, the accused persons disclosed their involvement in crime and on verification, the truck was found to be robbed on 22.06.2016 from the area of PS Meham, Rohtak, Haryana and a case vide FIR No.350/16 dated 23.06.2016 u/s 379-B/395/397 IPC was registered at PS Meham in this regard. Accordingly, all the four accused persons were arrested u/s 41.1 Cr.PC.

INTERROGATION & DISCLOSURE: -

          On sustained interrogation, the accused persons revealed that the accused Sandeep @ Sandy is the gang leader and he alongwith his associates Sombir, Jai Bhagwan @ Jagga, Surjeet @ Sanjay and Surjeet and other associates residing in different villages of District Rohtak used to rob trucks loaded with goods of different companies on gun point on different highways. Thereafter they used to dispose off the looted goods through arrested accused persons Jasbir and Manmohan @ Mona and one Sandeep Malik r/o Nangloi.

          On further interrogation, accused persons disclosed their involvement in following 5 cases of robberies/dacoities of loaded trucks  in last 2-3 months on different highways of Rohtak, Sonipat, Jhajjar and Rewari  districts of Haryana including one incident committed by them on 21.07.2015. In the said incident of 21.07.2015, the gang leader Sandeep @ Sandy alongwith associates in a Maruti Alto car abducted the driver Naazar Khan and helper Shashi Kumar of a truck loaded with bicycle accessories of TATA International Company, Ludhiana in area of Village Balamba, PS Meham, Rohtak, Haryana after thrashing and threatening them on gun point and after tying their hands and legs threw away them in fields situated on Bhiwani-Rohtak highway. In the midnight, the victims were spotted by the farmers working in the fields and were got admitted in hospital by calling local police. A case vide FIR No.350/16 dated 23.06.2016 u/s 379-B/395/397 IPC was registered at PS Meham in this regard and the robbed truck and the looted goods have been recovered by the Crime Branch. The other incidents are being linked with the respective cases.

PROFILES: -

          Accused Sandeep @ Sandy belongs to a lower middle class family and his father runs a grocery shop in his village. He graduated from Rohtak and started robbing the loaded trucks on highways with his associates in order to earn quick money. He is previously involved in several criminal cases of robbery, attempt to murder, arms act etc. registered in Haryana. Earlier also i.e. in the year 2013, he was arrested in a truck robbery case and remained in Rohtak jail.    

          Accused Sombir @ Khabba @ Lalas basically belongs to a lower middle class family and has studied upto 10^th standard from a Govt. school in his native village. His father has already expired and presently, he has 2 brothers and a sister in his family. He is previously involved in about 23 cases of robbery, dacoity, theft and Arms Act etc. of different police stations of Delhi and Haryana. About 3 years back, he was arrested by CIA Rohtak and remained in jail for about 3-4 years and came out of jail about 5-6 months ago.

          Accused Jasbir Singh belongs to District Barnala, Punjab and is presently residing in Vishnu Garden area of West Delhi. He is previously involved in about 15 cases of theft etc. and is a Bad Character of PS Hari Nagar. He used to receive the robbed goods from the accused persons and further used to dispose off the same in different markets in West Delhi.

          Accused Man Mohan @ Mona belongs to a middle class family. His father was an auto mechanic by profession in Punjabi Bagh area. After completing his studies, he also learnt the work of auto mechanic and started assisting his father in his family job. During their period, he also remained in African countries and Dubai for several months in search of mechanic job and to earn more money. While, he came back to India, he came in contact with one of his old friend Jasbir Singh and Sombir @ Khabba, who were indulged in highway robberies with Sandeep @ Sandy and joined their gang to earn easy and quick money by disposing off the looted goods.
