SENSATIONAL MURDER CASE OF BHAJANPURA SOLVED: REWARDED CRIMINAL AND A PROCLAIMED OFFENDER ARRESTED
A
team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Govind Sharma, Sanjay Gupta and Rajesh
Kumar arrested two accused persons namely (1) Sunil Basoya @ Pehalwan, aged 35 years,s/o
Phire Ram,r/o D-71, Indirapuri No. 2, Loni, Ghaziabad, UP and (2) Sandeep
Tyagi, aged 26 years, s/o Brij Bushan Tyagi @ Bushan, r/o Village Bada Goan, PS
Khekra District Baghpat, UP and solved a sensational murder case in which one
person was killed and 4 other persons were injured.
Incident:
On 21/06/2016, one
Kailash Gupta, aged 45 years, s/o Bhawani Shankar, r/o H. No. 666, Harsh Vihar,
Delhi and his son Rajan Gupta, aged 16 years, r/o same, were brutally assaulted
by a car borne armed assailants at Chowk Chand Bagh, Bhajan Pura, Delhi. During
the firing, one Banwari Lal, aged 64 years, s/o Sukhram, r/o Mandi Wala Road,
Shiv Vihar, Karwal Nagar, Delhi and Ram Lakhan, aged 30 years, s/o Ayodhya
Prasad, r/o A-141-A, Gali No. 3, Bhagirathi Vihar, Delhi also got injured. Later,
Kailash Gupta succumbed to the gunshot injuries suffered in the incident. The
assailants, while escaping, hit one Javed, aged 21 years, s/o Chand Mohd.,r/o
Madina Colony, Meerut, UP, with their car. A case vide FIR No. 382/2016, dated
21/06/2016, u/ss. 302/307/279/337/34 IPC was registered in this regard at PS
Gokulpuri.
Operation:
Since the case
generated apprehension of fear in the minds of the local persons, as per
directions of senior officers, a team of Special Cell had been tasked to
identify the perpetrators and to bring them to book. The team deployed sources
and mounted technical surveillance. Several hideouts of suspects were raided. On
06/07/2016, on receipt of specific information, a team led by Inspector Sanjay
Gupta, SI Rohit, HC Umesh, HC Raj Kumar, HC Sanjeev, Ct Manesh, Ct Anshu, Ct
Jitender and Ct Kapil was deployed in the area of Dilshad Garden to apprehend
the criminals. At about 10.45, as per the source information, a Santro car was
spotted near General Hospital, Dilshad Garden, Delhi. The team, in order to
intercept the car, signaled the occupants to stop. However, instead of stopping,
the occupants of the car attempted to speed away but were forced to stop by
tactically deploying their official vehicles. Being cornered, the occupants
took out firearms and opened fire at the police party. The police party also
fired in self defence and two occupants of the said car were overpowered and
apprehended while having loaded illegal pistols in their hands. The bullets
fired by the criminals landed on the bullet proof jackets being worn by the
police team. During this melee, one of the occupants managed to escape from the
spot taking cover of darkness. A case under relevant sections of laws has been
registered in this regard at PS Special Cell and both the accused persons have
been arrested.
Preliminary
Interrogation:
The preliminary
interrogation of the arrested accused revealed that the accused persons were running
a gang in NCR & nearby areas. In a murder case in which Kailash Gupta was
complainant and the accused persons were pressurizing him to enter into a compromise
and to withdraw the case. Brief facts of the previous cases in which the

On 17/04/2015, one
Vishal, s/o Kailash Gupta, r/o 666, Harsh Vihar, Delhi was assaulted by Anil
Kana, s/o Phirey Ram, r/o D-71, Indrapuri No. 2, Loni, Gaziabad, UP; Sunil s/o
Phirey Ram, r/o D-71, Indrapuri No. 2, Loni, Gaziabad, UP; Lalit Nagar, s/o
Dharampal, r/o E-44, Lal Bagh, Loni, Gaziabad, UP; Anuj @ Sonu Nagar, s/o
Rajpal Nagar, r/o D-114, Gali No. 7, Laxmi Garden, Gaziababd, UP and Neeraj @
Neetu, s/o Mehar Chand, r/o Rampark Extn., Loni, Gaziababd UP. Vishal had later
succumbed to his injuries. In this case, accused Sunil Pehelwan is wanted and a
reward of Rs. 20,000/- had also been declared by the Commissioner of Police,
Delhi for his arrest.

dated 21/05/2015, u/s 307/452/34 IPC & s. 22/27, Arms Act, PS Harsh Vihar
On 21/05/2015,
Kailash Gupta (deceased) had reported that while he, along with his wife, were
at their house,accused Sunil Pehelwan along with his accomplices had forcibly
entered his house and threatened him to enter into a compromise in the murder case
of his son Vishal and also fired at him.

Sandeep Tyagi is a permanent resident of Village Bada
Goan, Khekra, District Baghpat, UP. He began his career as an agent for ICICI bank but soon, got associated with satta operators
and joined this flourishing illicit activity. Accused Sandeep Tyagi had recently
opened fire on his wife and in-laws due to matrimonial dispute.
