Statement by Sr. B.J.P. Leader, Delhi State, Vice Chairman, NDMC and Former MLA Shri Karan Singh Tanwar on Wednesday, the 21 st September 2016 –  stated that under the chairman-ship of Shri Arvind Kejriwal, a special meeting  of Council was convened in the Council Room.
This meeting was presided over by Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister,  and attended by Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, M.P., Shri Karan Singh Tanwar, Vice Chairman & former MLA, , Shri Surender Singh, Member, NDMC, Dr. Anita Arya, Member, NDMC, Shri Abdul Rasheed Ansari, Member, NDMC, Shri B.S. Bhati, Member, NDMC, Shri Naresh Kumar, Chairman, NDMC, Shri Hitesh Kumar Makwana, Jt. Secretary & Member, NDMC, Shri DS Mishra, Addl. Secredtary & Member, NDMC, Shri Dharmendra, Jt. Secretary & Member, NDMC, Smt. Puniya Salila Srivastava, Secretary & Member, NDMC.
Shri Tanwar stated that initially the proposal was moved forward by Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament and the proposal was seconded by Shri Karan Singh Tanwar, Vice Chairman & Ex- MLA.  The proposal was discussed at length. Chief Minister, Shri Arvind Kejriwal, opposed this proposal in the beginning but when the proposal was recommended by all the Members of the Council, Shri Kejriwal was of the view that since this issue relates to Prime Minister’s residence, should be sent to PMO for consideration. But Shri Karan Singh Tanwar made it crystal clear that ‘naming and renaming of roads’ comes within the purview of NDMC and can be changed with Council’s approval. Shri Kejriwal was forced to accept the proposal unanimously. Simultaneously, it was also decided unanimously that the name of round about adjoining Gurudwara Rakab Ganj be named as ‘GURU GOVIND SINGH JI’.
Shri Tanwar stated that naming of the road as Lok Kalyan Marg is in the best  interest of the nation.  By this, a new spirit of doing something concrete will be developed and nation will move forward in the right direction. If there will be welfare of people, there will be all round development of country and the result of which will be seen gradually in the near future.

Imposter IPS Officer Arrested; an Academic Who Became a Cheat to Realize His Dream Unfulfilled

A team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Rahul Sawhney and Sanjay Kumar has arrested a cheat who impersonated as an IPS officer to cheat several persons in Delhi. On 23/02/2015,one Kultar Singh,s/o Late Raj Singh, r/o F-10, Gali No.2, Krishna Park, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi who runs a shop dealing with sale purchase of mobile phones in Gaffar Market of Karolbagh, Delhi made a complaint stating therein that a person in the name of ‘Satheesh Nair’ who had introduced himself as an IPS officer of Jaipur, Rajasthan, had come to his shop on 30/01/2015 and had purchased two mobile phones in exchange of two old phones by paying an amount of money. During the course of interaction,Satheesh Nair had shown his Identity Card to this complainant to convince him that he was an IPS officer presently posted in Jaipur, Rajasthan and was expecting his next posting in Delhi.
