Nort West District Police Organized Self Defense Training Programme

Fostering Community policing, the North-West District has been organizing multiple activities, inter
alia, Self Defense Training Programme, Pantomime Shows, Educational Lecture, English Speaking and Personality Development Course (Under Yuva Scheme).
                   In the series of “Say No To Fear” programme, as many as 175 girls from Guru Nanak Public School and Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Azadpur have been imparted Self Defense Training under the aegis of Parivartan Cell of North-West District. Techniques imparted to the participants include punches- upper, middle, lower, knife attack, board breaking, tiles breaking and coconut breaking etc. The Participants presented demo of the techniques which they learnt during training programme. The Demo of coconut breaking was stupendous and got standing ovation from the distinguished guests.
           
        Under Yuva Scheme as many as 27 youths of JJ Cluster and plebian students have been imparted training in English Speaking and Personality Development. This programme was organized with the assistance of Teach India Company (NGO) at PS Adarsh Nagar. Out of these 27 youths, 9 students including 7 girls have got placement in BPOs and Private Jobs. They are earning handsomely.
                   Enhancing police public interface, the local police, persuaded RWAs of Adarsh Nagar, Majlish Park, and Kewal Park for installing CCTV in their localities. As a result, 100 CCTV cameras having Wi Fi connectivity have been installed in this area.
                   To make aware people about security of their houses and surroundings, the North-West District has roped in students for “Students Security Audit Projects” in which students have been asked to conduct security audit of their houses. As of now, 1.50 lakh students have participated in this project.
                   Sh. Sanjay Singh, Jt.CP/NR, who was the chief guest on this occasion, inaugurated the
CCTV cameras and gave away certificate to the successful youth who got training Under Yuva Scheme. Certificates were also given away to the girls on completion of Self Defense Training Programme. Speaking on the occasion, Jt.CP/NR complimented the participants and

expressed gratitude to their parents for allowing them to undergo the Self Defense Training Course. He advised students to nurture big dreams and make sincere and positive efforts to realize them.

                   The undersigned, DR. Deotosh K.S. Singh Addl.DCP-II/NWD, Chairman, Secretary of the School Managing Committee, Principal of Guru Nanak Public School and members of RWAs also graced the occasion.
