Delegation of Auto-Taxi Drivers meets Special Police Commissioner (Traffic)
DELHI POLICE SHOULD GIVE PRIORITY FOR HALT & GO
AUTO STANDS NEAR THE MAIN GATES OF COLONIES AT METRO STATIONS,
MAIN ROADS, MARKETS, OFFICE COMPLEXES ETC FOR THE SENIOR CITIZENS & WOMEN
New Delhi, 2nd August. A delegation of Auto & Taxi Unions connected with Delhi BJP met Shri Sandip Goyal, Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) today. BJP Delhi Pradesh Executive Committee Member Shri Rohit Rajpal and Delhi Auto Rickshaw Union & Delhi Pradesh Taxi Union’s General Secretary Shri Rajender Soni led the delegation.
The delegation included President of Indira Gandhi Taxi Union Shri Rajpal and General Secretary Shri Jogesh Kumar, Delhi Pradesh Taxi Union Vice President Shri Deepak Kannojiya, Joint Action Committee Auto Rickshaw Taxi Union Member Shri Surjeet Singh Rana, Shri Inderjeet Singh, Shri Arif Khan and Shri Ashok Kumar.
Shri Rajpal said that it is the effort of BJP that on the one hand the Delhi Auto-Taxi Drivers get a respectable livelihood and on the other the people of Delhi especially the women get a reliable Auto Rickshaw service. They requested the Commissioner of Police to give priority for halt & Go Auto Stands near the main gates of colonies, at Metro Stations, Main Roads, Markets, Office Complexes etc. It will directly benefit the people and it will also protect the auto drivers from the harassment by the Police.
Shri Rajender Soni said that the delegation apprised Special Commissioner of Police about the problems regarding Prepaid System Parchi for Auto Taxi Drivers of Delhi, use of private vehicles as Taxi and welfare of Auto Drivers.
