Desperate Snatcher Caught Red Handed

07 Cases Of Snatching Solved 21 Mobile Phones And 09 Ladies Purses Recovered

The staff of P.S. Amar Colony has arrested a desperate snatcher namely Akil Nissar @ Sameer, aged 33 years s/o Nissar Ahmed r/o G-24, Muradi Road, Batla House, Jamia Nagar, Delhi and solved 07 cases of snatching of P.S. Lajpat Nagar, Amar Colony & New Friends Colony, South East Delhi. 21 Mobile phones, a Motorcycle Hero Honda and snatched 9 ladies purses have been recovered.

          Due to spurt in the incident of snatching in the area of Amar Colony and adjoining areas, a dedicated team led by Inspr. Arun Dev Nehra, ATO/Amar Colony & Inspr. Shiv Raj Bisht comprising of SI Yogesh Tanwar, HC Yogender, HC Vijay and Ct. Mahavir Singh was constituted under the supervision of Sh. Deepak Yadav IPS, ACP/Lajpat Nagar to develop information about active snatchers in the area and to verify them.

On 15.04.2015, a woman was going to Amar Colony Market for shopping. When she reached in front of Old Double Storey, Lajpat Nagar-IV, New Delhi, one person riding on a Hero Honda Motorcycle, snatched her purse containing Rs. 2,500/- and some documents. On raising alarm, a public person namely Shamim as well as police staff, present near place of incident, chased him  and apprehended the snatcher in front of HDFC Bank, Ring Road, Lajpat Nagar-IV, Delhi. The snatched purse of the complainant and motorcycle used in commission of this crime were recovered from the possession of the accused person. He was identified as Akil Nissar @ Sameer r/o Batla House, Jamia Nagar, Delhi. Consequently, a case vide FIR No. 497/2015 u/s 356/379/411 IPC was registered at PS Amar Colony. During verification, it was learnt that just before this incident, accused Akil Nissar had attempted to snatch the handbag of a woman while she was boarding a TSR along with her sister at Amar Colony Market. Another case vide FIR No. 499/15 u/s 356/379/511 IPC was registered at P.S. Amar Colony.

Accused Akil Nissar was subjected to sustain interrogation in which he disclosed that he started committing crime 2-3 months back. He used his Black Colour Motorcycle Hero Honda bearing Registration No. DL-3S BQ-6273 for commission of offence in evening. He used to deposit snatched amount in his Account at Jamia Nagar. He kept snatched mobiles and ladies purses in his shop. However, he used to send back the important documents of victim at their respective addresses through post. He further disclosed that he had planned to dispose snatched mobile phones in Gaffar Market, Karol Bagh, Delhi to get easy money.

At his instance, 21 Mobile phones including Apple I–phones  and snatched ladies purses have been recovered. The black colour Motorcycle bearing registration No. DL-3S-BQ-6273 has also been recovered.

          Further investigation is in progress and efforts are being made to connect the recovered articles with the concerned cases.

PROFILE
Accused Akil Nissar belongs to a well off family. He is married having three children. His mother is a retired Principal from a reputed school and father is also a teacher in a private school at Jamia Nagar. Accused Akil Nissar himself works as a temporary teacher in a MCD Primary school in the morning shift. After school, he runs his office in the name of Sameer India where he facilitates the people in preparing their PAN cards, Election cards, ration cards.
