Desperate Gangster Anand @ Sagar @ Ajay @ Amit @ Kala, Running Wanted in Three Different States, Arrested
A team of Special Cellled by Inspectors Manoj Dixit
and Shiv Kumar, under the supervision of Sh. Satyavir Singh, ACP, Special Cell,
Southern Range, has arrested the notorious gangster Anand @ Sagar @ Ajay @ Amit
@ Kala, aged 25 yrs, s/o Ramesh Kumar, r/o Village Dupedi, PS Assandh, District
Karnal, Haryana who is a rewarded criminal of Haryana and was wanted in many
States for several sensational crimes. The accused was found in possession of a
sophisticated semi-automatic pistol alongwith 6 live cartridges at the time of
apprehension. A case under appropriate sections of law has been registered in
this regard at PS Special Cell.
This team of Special Cell, which has been working
on Inter-State gangsters, received secret information that on 13/04/2015,
Anand, a notorious and elusive gangster, would be coming to Ring Road, near
ISBT Kashmere Gate, Delhi to meet an associate. Immediately, a trap was laid and
upon being spotted and identified, accused Anand was overpowered and
apprehended in a swift and professional operation. One sophisticated semi-automatic
0.32 bore pistol alongwith 5 live cartridges were recovered from his
possession. Accused Anand has accordingly been arrested and a case under Arms
Act has been registered in this regard.
Accused Anand, in his preliminary interrogation,
has disclosed that he, alongwith one Akshay, Anil and Sukhdev was running a
menacing extortion racket in and around the areas of Karnal, Haryana. In the
month of October 2013, he alongwith his associates had murdered a jeweler
namely Narender of Village Assandh for not yielding to their demandsof extortion.
A case vides FIR No. 541, dated 24/10/2013, u/ss. 392/302/34 IPC &s. 25 Arms
Act had been registered at PS Assandh, Karnal, Haryana in this regard. Since the
accused kept absconding, a reward of Rs. 25,000/- had been declared by the Haryana
Police on his arrest in this case.
While on the run, in the first week of November
2013, accused Anand had, along with one Sunil, Dhawan @ Bholu and Pradeep opened
fire on one Dhillu in the area of Village Meham, District Rohtak, Haryana. In
this regard, a case vides FIR No. 358/13, dated 05/11/2013, u/ss. 307/34 IPC
and 25 Arms Act has been registered at PS Mehamand the accused was running
wanted in this case also.
To evade the law, accused Anand kept moving between
Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Delhi etc. In January 2015, when the
accused was at a hideout in Gujarat, one Afroz, his old associate, contacted
him for extorting money from a textile businessman namely Sachin of District
Kutch, Gujarat. Accused Anand hatched a conspiracy with Afroz, Ali and Rafiq for
murdering Sachin after receiving the extortion money. An extortion call was
made to Sachin. After negotiations, the extortion amount was settled as Rs. 60
Lakhs. On the next day, when the victim Sachin reached Hotel Swagat,
Gandhidham, Gujarat alongwith cash Rs. 60 Lakhs, accused Anand got suspicious
about the presence of Police and swiftly vanished from the place without
collecting the extortion money. A case vides FIR No. 14/15,u/ss. 384/387/120-B
IPC was registered at PS Gandhidham, B-Division, District Kutchh, Gujarat in
this regard. This enraged Anand and to retaliate and teach Sachin a lesson, he
along with his associates kidnapped one Ashish, a business partner of Sachin
and made further ransom demands from the victim’s father. After kidnapping
Ashish, accused and his associates traveled to Muzaffarnagar, UP for a hide out.
From there, they went to the jungles of Uttarkashi and repeated their ransom
calls to the family of the victim. After negotiations, accused received a
handsome amount through hawala for the release of victim Ashish. Subsequently,
Ashish was abandoned in Muzaffarnagar in March 2015 while the accused made
their way to another hideout in Uttarakhand.
The criminal activities of Anand did not stop even
while on the run in Uttarakhand. On 09/04/2015, Anand alongwith his associates
Deepak @ Mota, Navit and Rohit Phogat opened fire on a jeweler in Kankhal area
of Haridwar while committing robbery. A case vides FIR No. 69/15, dated
09/04/2015, u/ss. 307 IPC was registered at PS Kankhal, Haridwar in this
regard. After this incident, accused Anand left Uttarakhand and came to Delhi
from where he was arrested by the Special Cell.
Accused Anand @ Ajay @ Sagar @ Amit @ Kala was born
in 1990 to an agriculturist father. He passed Class 12thbut did not
complete his graduation as he had got into bad company and soon, took to crimes
to earn a fashionable livelihood. He is involved in 10 different cases regarding
murder, attempt to murder, extortion, arms act etc.
