Blind Hit & Run Case Worked Out in No Time with The Help Of CCTV Cameras Installed in Market

The staff of Police Station Rajouri Garden, West District, has worked out a blind Hit & Run case with the help of CCTV Cameras installed in the market by the shopkeepers on the motivation of local police. Precisely, the case has been worked out in no time.  Accused is a woman living in the area of Subhash Nagar.

            On 08.04.15, information was received from DDU Hospital that an unknown injured of accident case of aged about 55 Yrs has been got admitted by unknown person. Immediately, SI Pravesh Kaushik IC PP MIG Flats, ASI Chander Bhan and Ct Amit reached the hospital where injured was found in critical condition. The victim was identified as Parmod Kumar r/o Hari Nagar Delhi. Local enquiry was made, however, no eyewitness of the incident was found and a case vide FIR No 473/15, dated 08.4.15 u/s 279/337 IPC was registered and investigation taken up.
It was a blind Hit & Run case. There was no clue about the accused, alleged vehicle & place of occurrence. Immediately, a team was constituted comprising SI Pravesh Kaushik ,IC PP,MIG Flats, SI Mangal Ram, ASI Chander Bhan, HC Heera Lal, Ct Bhagirath &  Ct Amit under the supervision of Inspr. Suneel Kumar SHO Rajouri Garden and overall supervision of Sh. B.R.Maan, ACP Rajouri Garden.

During the course of treatment, the victim succumbed to his injuries and section 304 A IPC was added in this case.

Initially, all the CCTV footages of the DDU Hospital were analyzed and it revealed that the victim was brought to DDU Hospital by a woman and a man in a Silver Colour Wagon R Car.

Enquiry was made from the relatives of the deceased, who informed that the deceased was working in Tagore Garden and used to go to his office daily via Milap Market, 2 Block, Arya Samaj Chowk, Green MIG. The CCTV footages of the route were analysed and due to the persistent efforts, the incident was found captured in the CCTV footage installed at 2 Block outside one Handloom Shop and it revealed that a lady was driving the vehicle at the time of accident.

Immediately, photographs of the accused, alleged vehicle were developed and shown in the area and after sustained efforts the alleged vehicle was traced i.e. Wagon R Car number DL 9C Y 0959 and the accused Manisha Grover was traced.

On interrogation, accused informed that she was learning driving from her husband and lost balance and thus the accident occurred. She, with the help of her husband, shifted the victim to the hospital. However, seeing the condition of the victim they became afraid and fled off from the Hospital. The accused has been arrested.
