THREE PERSONS ARRESTED FOR CRIMINAL BREACH OF TRUST ON THE PRETEXT OF FAKE ROBBERY

With the arrest of three persons including Two Asst. Managers of complainant company  Thomas Cook (India) Ltd (TCIL),  Police Station Connaught Place, New Delhi  District Police has recovered a misappropriated amount by projecting a fake armed robbery, Foreign Currency Cash    amounting more than Rs. 2.22 Crore. Thomas Cook (India) Ltd (TCIL), is having the business of arranging domestic and International Tour and provide travel related services to its customers including foreign exchange, booking of hotels, airlines, railways etc.
INCIDENT
 Mr. Ankit Gupta , General Manager of Thomas Cook (India) Lld (TCIL)  having its Branch offices at Terminal-3, IGI Airport, New Delhi  and  Inner Circle, Connaught Place, New Delhi lodged a complaint of cheating  and criminal breach of trust against his employee/ Asstt. Manager namely Sumit Kumar alleging therein that  at 09.30 AM on 11.07.2016,  he was handed over Foreign Currency Cash amounting to INR 2,22,78,683 ( Two Crore Twenty Two Lakhs Seventy Eight Thousand Six Hundred and Eighty Three)  at IGI Airport for transfer to Connaught Place Branch but  Sumit Kumar’s mobile phone was found switched off after an hour and his whereabouts were not known either to the company or his parents. IGI Airport Police was informed at about 2 PM about the incident. Thereafter Sumit gave a call to IGI Airport Shift cell from Noida  informing that he has been robbed of the collected  Foreign Currency at Shivaji Stadium Metro station, Connaught Place after informing his company, the company officials reached him and they informed the Police Chowki in Noida. As soon as information reached Police Station Connaught Place in the evening the whole system swung into action. A case vide   FIR NO. 198/16, Dated 12.07.2016, U/S 408 IPC was registered at PS Connaught Place, New Delhi on his complaint and investigation was conducted. As a sensational robbery was reported in the heart of the Connaught Place, complainant was thoroughly examined, he was taken to the all the places and technical and scientific analysis of his call record was done which does not matches with his story. The complainant was subjected to sustained interrogation to which cracked down and whole story and it came out to the a fake robbery to misappropriate the amount to earn easy money.  
MODUS OPERANDI
Sumit Kumar, Asstt. Manager and the co-accused Rohit Kumar another  Asst Manager with the company planned and  conspired each other to misappropriate the  Foreign Currency Cash of the TCIL  collected from IGI Branch for transferring to Connaught Place branch. Rohit Kumar also roped in his brother Rahul in the crime. As per the plan,   Accused Sumit Kumar  first collected the said Foreign Currency Cash  from IGI Terminal and came to Connaught Place by Metro and reached  Shivaji Stadium Metro Station in Connaught Place where he met Rohit and his brother Rahul in an  ALTO car.  Accused Sumit sat in the car with the bag containing  Foreign Currency Cash and handed over the same to Rohit and Rahul.  Thereafter Sumit reached Noida and informed the Connaught Place branch that he has been robbed of the collected Foreign Currency Cash of the TCIL from IGI Terminal. 

On interrogation accused persons have confessed in committing the crime and as per their planning, they had to dispose of the Foreign Currency from local Foreign Currency changers by encashing in small denominations.
Profile of the accused
1.   Sumit Kumar  s/o Sh Ashok Kumar r/o 340, Haiderpur, Delhi.  Age 30 yrs.
2.   Rohit Kumar s/o Sh Laxmi Narayan r/o D-42, Mangla Puri village, Palam colony, Delhi . Age 27 yrs.
3.   Rahul Verma s/o Sh Laxmi Narayan r/o D-42, Mangla Puri village, Palam colony, Delhi.  Age 29 yrs

Accused Sumit Kumar is an employee of the Thomas Cook (India) Ltd (TCIL) and working as Asstt. Manager for about 2 years and is graduate .

 Accused Rohit Kumar  is also an employee of the Thomas Cook (India) Ltd (TCIL) working as Asstt. Manager and He is graduate .

Accused  Rahul Verma is elder brother of the co-accused Rohit.  He is also  graduate.

Since accused Sumit and Rohit are working with the TCIL as Asstt. Managers and they had to collect  Foreign Currency Cash from the IGI terminal, therefore they both decided and conspired to misappropriate the currency of the company. Accused Rohit also roped in his elder brother Rahul in the planning/conspiracy. Accused Sumit was subjected to sustained interrogation and firstly on his interrogation he tried to give it a shape of robbery by some unknown persons but on prolonged interrogation he gave in and confessed that he along with Rohit and his brother Rahul had conspired to misappropriate the Foreign Currency Cash by showing it a heist. 
Team & investigation

During prolonged, sustained interrogation, technical and systematic investigation, a  team of the police station Connaught Place comprising Insp. Pankaj Malik (SHO/Connaught Place), and other officers under the overall supervision of senior officers detected the case and arrested three accused persons and recovered the misappropriated amount  Foreign Currency Cash     amounting more than INR 2.22 Crore of Thomas Cook (India) Ltd (TCIL).
