Interstate Gang of Active Auto-Lifters-Cum-Pick Pockets Busted
With the arrest of three members, a
gang of active auto-lifters-cum-pick pockets has been busted by the staff of Anti-Auto
Theft Squad/West District. 
HIGHLIGHTS: -
Ø Two stolen motorcycles and five burgled mobile phones
recovered.
Ø Five other suspected mobile phones also recovered and taken
into possession U/S 102 Cr.P.C.
PROFILE:
1.  
Ravinder @ Sunda S/o Baljeet Singh R/o B-89, Aman Vihar, Delhi, Age – 26
years, Education – 8th Class. He was born in 1986 at his native
village Ludhiana Delhi Delhi 
2.  
Rohit S/o Narender Sharma R/o B-3/478, Sultan Puri, Delhi, Age –
24 years, Education – 6th Class. He was born in 1990 at his given
address. His father works as labourer. He studied upto 6th standard.
Initially, he worked in a sweet box manufacturing unit in Mangol Puri area.
Later, he worked as a helper on RTVs. However, he fell in bad company and started
consuming drugs. He started committing petty offences to meet his lust and
regularly remained involved in criminal activities. He was arrested first time
in a theft case in Police Station Saraswati Vihar, Delhi 
3.  
Manohar Lal S/o Hatu @ Nathu Ram R/o B-1/112, Kailash Vihar, Aman
Vihar, Delhi, Age – 31 years, Education – Illiterate.  He was born at
above mentioned address. His father died after long ago. He lived with his
mother who is a labourer. He didn’t go to school and is illiterate. Initially,
he worked as labourer, but later came in contact with bad elements and started
committing crime. Initially, he started snatching in remote areas and
pick-pocketing in the crowded buses also. He was an active member of Pintu gang.
He remained actively involved in criminal activities. He was arrested first
time in 1992 in Arms Act, Police Station Moti Nagar, Delhi

        On
15/06/2015, information was received by Ct. Ajay Kumar, posted with AATS/West
district that three above named persons, who are actively involved in
auto-lifting, burglary and pick-pocketing, would pass through DSIDC, Nangloi
underpass to go to Gaffar market, Karol Bagh to sell stolen mobile phones on a
stolen motorcycle. After due legal process, a team comprising HC Ved Parkash, Ct. Ajay Kumar, Ct. Yogesh Kumar, Ct. Satish Kumar, Ct. Naveen Kumar and Ct. Amit Kumar was constituted to act promptly and further develop the
information. The team so constituted was working under the leadership of
Inspector Dinesh Kumar, AATS/ West and overall supervision of
ACP/Operations/West Shri Dinesh Tiwari. The team started vehicle checking by
erecting barricades at strategic point in Nangloi. 
        At about 3.50 PM, three persons coming
from Mangol Puri side on a black colour Hero Honda Passion Pro motorcycle were
spotted. On pointing out of
the informer, the alert team swiftly swung into action and closed the barricades
to block the traffic. The team overpowered the suspected trio with their
motorcycle. On enquiry, the suspects introduced
themselves as above. They were asked to produce the documents of the motorcycle, but could not
produce the same and tried to mislead the team by presenting wrong facts. On
enquiry, it revealed that the motorcycle is stolen vide FIR No. 79/14, dt. 10/02/2014, U/S 379 IPC, P. S. Nihal
Vihar, Delhi 
        The accused were put to sustained
interrogation to know about their other involvement in criminal cases. After a
little dodging, they spewed out that they are actively involved in criminal
activities. Initially, they started committing burglaries. In the meantime they
also stole two motorcycles for their own convenience and used them in criminal
activities. Later on, they started committing pick-pocketing. 
        The trio further disclosed that they are
close friends and have drug addiction. They used to commit crime to get money
and used to spend a huge part of booty on drugs. They had stolen these mobile
phones and were going to sell them in Gaffar market, Karol Bagh, Delhi
