Imposter Posing as DANICS Officer Arrested

On 9-6-15, a PCR call was received by the caller Anurag Gahlot. 
The call mentioned that a DANICS officer is manhandled by the public at Jaipur rattan Kendra, Mangal Bazar road, Bindapur. At this, the SHO Binadapur and  IO/ASI Shivnaresh reached the spot and came to know that there is a quarrel between the shopkeeper  and caller Anurag Gahlot and the matter has been sorted out.  They have given a written statement also that the matter amongst them is sorted out and settlement is done.   The caller Anurag Gahlot introduced himself to the police officers as DANICS 2008 batch officer working as Assistant Commissioner sales Tax ( D-VAT ).  He was flashing an Identity card in his neck of Ministry of Home affairs and gave his visiting card to the IO in which Ministry of Home affairs was mentioned alongwith the  National Emblem. 

                    From his behavior and action Anurag Gahlot looks suspicious, as such an enquiry  regarding his identity was started.  Civil list of DANICS was examined and his name was not found.  Enquiry from sales D-VAT section, enforcement directorate was done and they also denied of anyone by this name and identity working there. He was contacted over phone on 12th of june and he said that he is in MHA. After some persuasion he came in P.S Bindapur in the evening.
When he arrived at P.S , he was asked for his ID card and he presented his MHA issued ID card. The card was signed by chief security officer(CSO), MHA.  CSO MHA was contacted and he confirmed that the card is issued by MHA , He was then interrogated thoroughly as how he has got a genuine MHA card without being an officer, as it had serious security implications. As per his version, he managed to obtain the MHA I card by forging the signatures and stamp of director level officer of GNCT Delhi.  He stated that he initially got an ID card for the post of SDM and then subsequently created a fake transfer order and got a renewed MHA I card of Asstt Commissioner. 
                    He also stated that he is an M.Phil from SIS JNU however during enquiry this information was also found wrong.  He also further stated that he has a company called Global Spectrum in Punjabi Bagh through which he does the job of facilitation and PR for private business. It has also come to notice that he has married a girl working in government sector on the bases of creating a false Identity and the divorce matter is pending in court on this issue. Upon this, a case of cheating  by impersonation and forgery has been registered in P.S Bindapur in South West District.

                    During interrogation he finally confessed that he is not a DANICS officer. He had appeared in Civil services exam earlier but could get through. He was impressed by the movie ‘Catch me if you can’ and was thus following it.

Imposter IPS Officer Arrested; an Academic Who Became a Cheat to Realize His Dream Unfulfilled

A team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Rahul Sawhney and Sanjay Kumar has arrested a cheat who impersonated as an IPS officer to cheat several persons in Delhi. On 23/02/2015,one Kultar Singh,s/o Late Raj Singh, r/o F-10, Gali No.2, Krishna Park, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi who runs a shop dealing with sale purchase of mobile phones in Gaffar Market of Karolbagh, Delhi made a complaint stating therein that a person in the name of ‘Satheesh Nair’ who had introduced himself as an IPS officer of Jaipur, Rajasthan, had come to his shop on 30/01/2015 and had purchased two mobile phones in exchange of two old phones by paying an amount of money.
