DREADED GANGSTER BELONGING TO ‘ASIF GANG’ ARRESTED AFTER BRIEF ENCOUNTER

• ONE SEMI AUTOMATIC PISTOL ALONGWITH 4 FIRED CARTRIDGES RECOVERED.
• A REWARD OF RS.25,000/- DECLARED ON HIS ARREST.

INTRODUCTION: -

Crime Branch has apprehended a dreaded gangster after a brief shoot-out, namely Ashu @ Mukkaram (26 yrs) s/o Sharafat @ Puttan r/o K-70, Gali No.2, Sunder Nagari, Nand Nagri, Delhi and recovered a semi automatic pistol alongwith 4 used cartridges and one stolen motorcycle from his possession. He is wanted in the shootout case of PS Pul Prahlad Pur, Delhi and a reward of Rs.25,000/- was declared by Delhi Police on his arrest.

INCIDENT: -

On 01.12.2016, about 7/8 persons travelling in a Maruti Swift car and a Honda City, having number plates smudged with mud to conceal the registration numbers, followed by one motorcycle, tried to loot a Maruti Dzire car No.UP25MB 3274 by firing at the driver. The bullet hit the bonnet of the car but the car owner managed to flee from the spot with his car. Thereafter, they stopped one scooty Yamaha No.DL3SCC 8125 and robbed it from its driver. Two robbers fled away on the scooty.  At around 11.40 PM, the police of PS Pulprahlad Pur intercepted the Maruti Swift and asked its occupants to come out. Finding themselves trapped, the occupants of the car came out and one of them instantly took out a pistol and fired aiming at the police party. Some of the accused fled away in this melee and the remaining fled away in the jungle taking advantage of the darkness. Later, the accused were identified as Asif, Mukkaram and Danish.  

INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION: -

On 24.2.2017, a secret information was received by HC Rajeev Tyagi that a wanted criminal Ashu @ Mukkaram would come near Nirmal Hardya Observation House, Timar Pur Area, Delhi, on a red Hero Passion motorcycle No.DL 5S BJ 5848 at about 9-10 pm to meet his associates for committing some heinous crime. The secret informer further confirmed that Ashu @ Mukkaram was also equipped with lethal illegal arms.

Accordingly, a team of Central Range led by ACP Sandeep Lamba, consisting of Inspr. Ashish Kumar Dubey, SI Vineet Kumar, ASIs Ajay Kumar, Ajit Singh, Rakesh, Jitender, Joginder, Prabhu Dayal, HCs Rajeev Tyagi, Praveen Kumar, Mool Chand, Praveen, Shahir Khan, Sudhir, Cts Karnal Yadav and Nishant was constituted under the supervision of DCP Rajesh Deo and overall guidance of Addl.CP K.K. Vyas to nab him and a trap was laid at the given place. One motorcycle bearing registration No.DL5S BJ 5848 came from the side of ISBT Kashmiri Gate, after confirmation by the secret informer, SI Vineet signalled the rider to stop the motor cycle. On seeing the police party, the motorcycle rider tried to flee from the spot. SI Vineet Kumar and staff disclosed their identity and asked him to surrender but the suspect Ashu @ Mukkaram immediately took out a pistol and ran towards Aruna Nagar under Bridge, Timar Pur. SI Vineet, HC Rajeev Kumar and Ct. Nishant chased him under the barrage of firing, in which four rounds were fired by the accused, without caring about their lives. He was pushed to the ground by Ct. Nishant & in a swift movement, HC Rajeev Tyagi disarmed him and he was immediately overpowered by SI Vineet. Accordingly, the above said accused arrested and a case vide FIR No.23/17, u/s 186/353/307/411 IPC &25/27 Arms Act was registered at PS Crime Branch, Delhi in this regard.

INTERROGATION: -

During interrogation, the accused disclosed his identity as Ashu @ Mukkaram. He disclosed that in 2013, he was arrested in an auto theft case and came out of jail on bail. After this, he started committing robberies alongwith his brother-in-law Asif, who was running a gang namely “ASIF GANG”. He managed to remain at large despite the arrest of other gang members including Asif on several occasions.

He further disclosed that he had received the recovered motorcycle from his brother-in-law Asif for committing crime. On enquiry, the motorcycle was found to be stolen from the area of PS Bhajanpura vide e-FIR No.012729/2016, u/s 379 IPC, PS e-Police Station, Delhi. He has further disclosed his involvement in a dacoity of Rs.80 lac from a businessman in Bareilly and in a robbery of Rs.4 lac from 2-3 persons in Lakhimpur Khiri.     

RECOVERY: -

1.     One semi automatic pistol alongwith four used cartridges.

2.      One stolen Hero Passion motorcycle stolen Vide e-FIR No.012729, dated 30/4/2016 from the area of PS Bhajanpura, Delhi.

PROFILE: -

Accused Ashu @ Mukkaram was born in Bareilly, UP in 1991. His father was a farmer. He has studied upto 3rd standard. In 2005, after the death of his father, he alongwith his family came to Delhi. After the marriage of his sister with Asif, he started indulging with him in various robberies, chain snatchings and theft cases as his brother-in-law was running a gang and was also wanted in the instant case carrying a reward of Rs.25,000/- over his head.
