“CBI inquiry must into AAP’s furnishing false and fabricated audit report”

The Income Tax Department must seek CBI probe against AAP Chief Kejriwal for filing “false and fabricated” audit report on donations amounting to Rs. 27 crores, said the Leader of Opposition, Vijender Gupta. The charges are so serious having wide ramifications that they need through probe by the investigating agency.  Kejriwl is now getting nervous and blaming PM  as Income Tax Department has recommended cancellation of the Aam Admi Party’s (AAP)’s status as a political party.  It has acquired serious dimension since AAP inexplicably removed list of donors from its website.

Leader of Opposition said that Kejriwal has shown shameless audacity to blame the Prime Minister even as his Government has announced bold steps to clean up political funding in India.  The Government has put limitation on cash donations from an individual to Rs. 2000.  It shows that the Government is determined to bring in transparency and honesty in the political funding. Against this policy, AAP has put iron curtain on its donations.  The party which claimed that it would account for each and every rupee of donation removed the list of donor from its web-site.  

Vijender Gupta said that it is unreasonable to attribute political motives to PM and BJP for what is basically IT Department’s logical action following large scale   misappropriation of funds and manipulation of accounts by AAP leaders.  It needed several reminders and continuous follow up by the Income Tax Department as the party was not co-operating with the Department. So much so for the party which claimed to have embarked upon an era of honesty and transparency in political donations.
