Statement of DPCC President Shri Ajay Maken

Statement of DPCC President Shri Ajay Maken on developments in Hon’ble Supreme Court w.r.t. Chikungunya & Dengue cases in Delhi

Daring the Kejriwal Government to come clean on its stand before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, Shri Ajay Maken has demanded that the names of all ministers who were missing in action at the time of Dengue & Chikungunya outbreak in Delhi, be presented to the Apex Court, with exact details of their absence from the National Capital. Shri Maken said that though, all along, the Kejriwal Government has failed to discharge their primary duty towards the people of Delhi and have constantly indulged in blame and accusations, but the loss of life on account of avertible crises of Chikungunya and Dengue was a serious public health disaster for which the political leadership should take responsibility.

Now, since the Apex Court had sought the list of those who were responsible of handicapping the administration in Delhi, the people of Delhi demand that the names of Kejriwal Ji and his ministers shall be put in the Affidavit, to be filed before Supreme Court on Monday, said Shri Maken.

Underlining the fact that while the people of Delhi were battling epidemic like situation in the National Capital, Shri Kejriwal was busy campaigning in Punjab; Deputy Chief Minister was holidaying in Finland; Health Minister Shri Satyender Jain was campaigning in Goa; and Shri Gopal Rai was electioneering in Chhattisgarh. Shri Maken also slammed the Lt. Governor who had gone to the United States during such a crucial time. These facts shall be brought before the Hon’ble Supreme Court so that necessary action is taken against those ‘Public Servants’ who ‘actually’ failed to discharge their obligation as in controlling the Dengue, Chikungunya crises in Delhi, said Shri Maken. The Affidavit must not be an eyewash by naming small fishes in order to save the highest decision makers/ defaulters, demanded Shri Maken.

On Friday (30.09.2016), the Delhi Government while pleading ‘not guilty’ before the Hon’ble Supreme Court, said on Affidavit through Health Minister Satyender Jain, that it could not tackle the Dengue & Chikungunya crises as Government Officials were not listening to them. Taking strong objections to the said plea, the Apex Court directed the Delhi Government to furnish the names of all those who handicapped the Government, by Monday
