LOP urges Chief Minister  to  review of no admission policy to the 9th failed students in Delhi Govt. Schools
Leader of Opposition, Vijender Gupta  in a letter to the Chief Minister Kejriwal today strongly urged him to review the policy of not granting admission to those students who failed in 9th Class in regular classes in Delhi Govt.  Schools.   As per circular issued at the beginning of current academic session by the Delhi Government, these students are required to take admission in correspondence course or appear through Open School in 10th Class.  The Scheme has proved to be a failure as these students are feeling to be left out of the main stream of education system.  It is leading to depression not only amongst the students but also the parents.
Vijender Gupta informed that despite the passage of seven months since start of the current academic session, nothing concrete has been done to ensure their future.    A large number of parents have apprised him of the difficulties being faced by them and their children who earlier failed to pass the class 9th Exam.  He said that today morning parents of two such students met him.  Their wards studied in Sarvodya Bal Vidhalya at CC Colony in Rana Partap Bagh in the Model Town Vidhan Sabha Constituency.  Their father Gauri Shanker works at motor part market as labourer in Kashmere Gate at monthly wage of Rs. 7000/-.  His both children came under depression.  He wanted to continue their education despite all odds.  He requested the school officials but the class teacher regretted inability to provide them admission in regular classes.  As per advise of the teacher, he filled up their forms in open school for 10th Class incurring an expenditure of Rs. 800/-.  One of the sons could not get admission due to under age.  There are four such more students who could not get admission in open school.  The open school is not returning their fees.
Leader of Opposition urged the Delhi Government that it must embark upon special campaign to safeguard the interests of those student who failed in 9th Class and provide them admission in regular classes.  A period of seven months has passed since the start of the Session.  Therefore, special arrangement must be made to cover their syllabus.  They should be provided all other facilities which are given to regular students.
