SENSATIONAL EXTORTION CUM FIRING INCIDENT OF VIVEK VIHAR SOLVED
With the arrest of Mohit Kumar s/o Nakul Kumar
r/o Vill- Ghanghrola, PS Hafizpur, Distt- Hapur, Special Staff of East District alongwith the
officials of P.S. Vivek Vihar, Delhi has solved a sensational case of extortion
and firing registered at Vivek Vihar, Delhi. The extortion threats to a Car
Accessories dealer were given by one notorious criminal of Western UP Balraj
Bhati, a Gang Member of Sunder Bhati.
GIST OF THE COMPLAINT
On 06.05.2016 a call regarding
incident of firing was received at P.S. Vivek Vihar, East District by a
resident of Surajmal Vihar who is a Car Accessiories Dealer. He reported that
on 06/05/16 at around 1030 AM two persons came on bike at his house and his
wife went to open the door. She saw one person sitting on bike and the other
one came near her and introduced himself as Balraj Bhati, a Gang Member of
Sunder Bhati and threatened her as her husband had failed to comply their demands
and he will face dire consequences for that and fired from a Pistol outside his
house. After firing both criminals fled away from the spot. Immediately police
swung into action and registered a case u/s 386/336/34 IPC and Arms Act at P.S.
Vivek Vihar, Delhi and took up the investigation.
INVESTIGATION AND ARREST
A team comprising SIs Vinay
Yadav, Kulbir Rana, Arun Sindhu, KK Sharma, Kulbir, ASI Swadeshpal HCs Manoj, Pawan,
Bakshish Ct. Ravinder Bhati, Ct. Saleem, Ct. Sanjay under the close supervision
of Insp. Videsh Singhal I/C Spl. Staff
East and overall supervision of Sh. Y.K. Tyagi ACP/OPS/East was
constituted and investigation was taken up. During the course of investigation,
the team of special staff found that the extortion calls were made from
different mobile numbers and different locations. The extortion caller was
forcing the complainant in all calls to meet Gangster Sunder Bhati in Hamirpur
Jail. From the clue and through technical surveillance, one criminal’s movement
was traced. Efforts were made to locate him and on a secret input received by
SI Vinay Yadav of Special Staff that the criminal involved in this case will
come near Cross River Mall to meet someone, a team from Special Staff and PS
Vivek Vihar swung into action and the criminal Mohit was apprehended.
INTERROGATION
On Sustained interrogation Mohit
disclosed that he is close associate of Balraj Bhati. During the month of
January 2016, he met Balraj Bhati in Sitapur Court Complex near Lucknow for
bail of Balraj Bhati’s associate. In April 2016, when they were in Hamirpur,
Balraj told him regarding the plan to extort money from a Delhi based
businessman. Mohit on interrogation further revealed that Balraj informed him
that the businessman is a Millionaire. Balraj guided Mohit to call the
businessman and pose himself as Sunder Bhati. Mohit called the complainant
posing as Sunder Bhati from Hamirpur Jail. Later several other extortion threat
calls were given by Balraj Bhati. As the complainant was not paying attention
to their demands, finally on 6 May,
Mohit
came along with Balraj Bhati at complainant’s residence and fired to terrorize
him. They again made threatening calls to complainant on 6th and 7th
May and threatened him that today the bullet is fired in the air
