SEMINAR ON ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING (DELHI POLICE WEEK CELEBRATION)

On the occasion of Delhi Police Week celebration, the North-West District organized a seminar on Anti Human Trafficking at Laxmi Bai College, Ashok Vihar, Delhi today i.e. 18.02.2016.

          The programme was organized in association with “Rescue Foundation” and “STOP” (STOP Trafficking and Oppression of Children and Women). Principals/Teachers of Colleges/Schools, representative of NGO’s, around 1000 girl students of college and eminent citizens of North-West District attended the programme.

The undersigned, DCP/Crime Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Ms. Amrutha Guguloth IPS, Addl. DCP, North-West District and ACsP/SHOs of North-West District were also present on this occasion. 

          The distinguished speakers gave insightful lecture touching upon various aspects of human trafficking & tactics adopted by traffickers to entice innocent/poor girls/women and legal aspects to deal with this menace. Power point presentations were also shown. While responding to the queries of the audiences, Prof. Ms. Roma Debarata, Managing Trustee, RBC, Trust (Project STOP) outlined the efforts being made by the NGO’s supported by Delhi Police in rehabilitation of the victims of human trafficking especially Girls/Women.

          “NAVRANGG” the dramatics society of Laxmi Bai Collage also performed self scripted play skit “Jee Bhi Ley”. Through this play they portrayed a section of the society that has been neglected for years and struggle faced by the children of trafficked women. The thought provoking performance of the students was lauded by all.

          Sh. Sanjay Singh IPS, Jt.CP Northern Range, who was the Chief Guest. He appreciated the performance of “Skit” by “NAVRANGG” as it gave a live narration on the issue of human trafficking. He stressed upon to work passionately in order to eradicate the menace of human trafficking.

          The audience appreciated the initiative of Delhi Police for organizing seminar on such a burning and critical issue like human trafficking. They came forward to offer their services for this noble cause.


          Sh. Sanjay Singh IPS, Jt.CP Northern Range also presented mementos to guest speakers and students of college.
