KIDNAPPED BUSINESSMAN RELEASED FROM CAPTIVITY BY TEAM OF OUTER DISTRICT

On 11/3/15, Shri Harbans Lal, r/o Sec-8, Rohini, lodged a complaint at PS North Rohini that his son namely Ankit Sharma, aged 24 years has been held captive by some persons who are demanding Rs. 10 lac as ransom money. On this a case vide FIR No. 214/15 U/s 364A IPC PS North Rohini dated11/3/2015 was registered.  On initial enquiry from the friends of the victim it came to light that someone had contacted him regarding discovery of brick of a gold in a field and victim Ankit Sharma would be going to strike a deal shortly to purchase that brick of gold.

            A team was constituted under the supervision of ACP/Prashant Vihar and leadership of SHO/North Rohini, Inspr. Praveen Kumar and consisting of Inspr. Ghanshyam Meena, No. D-3490, HC Hari Kishan, HC Yashvir, Const. Bijender, Ct Mahasheel, 2643/OD, Ct. Vikas, 2629/OD and Ct. Sandeep, 2572/OD.
            It was learnt that the victim had been held captive somewhere in District Mathura.  From local intelligence and with the help of U.P. Police from Mathura, it was learnt that it could be the work of one Tatloo Gang of Vill. Bishambra, Distt. Mathura, U.P. Accordingly, search of the area was started along with the team of UP Police, which was led by SI Harvinder Mishra.  After extensive search, the team managed to locate the victim and the kidnappers on the outskirts of Bishambra village beyond the agricultural field near a small forested area.
            On seeing the police team approaching, the kidnappers opened fired on the police team when they realized that they had been outnumbered. The kidnappers fired about 25-30 rounds at the police party and in retaliation, the police team also fired on the kidnappers.  Taking cover of the agricultural field and thick vegetation, the kidnappers fled from the scene leaving behind the victim Ankit Sharma who was rescued unhurt by the team of Delhi Police with the help of UP Police of Mathura District. 
            On initial enquiry from the victim it has emerged that some unknown person claiming to be a farmer had contacted Ankit Sharma saying that he has discovered a brick of solid gold in his agricultural field and does not know what to do with it.  He had even sent a photograph of the brick to Ankit’s phone to substantiate his claim.  Believing the person to be true, Ankit Sharma decided to make a quick profit.  He, however, did not realise that he had fallen prey to a trap.  He also did not disclose these facts to his parents or any family members but he had mentioned this to his close friends that he could soon be making a huge profit out of a gold brick.  The main accused members of the Gang are being identified with the help of UP police.  Further search and combing operations are continuing to nab the culprits.
