GANG OF NOTORIOUS AUTO-LIFTERS BUSTED

Two auto-lifters and two receivers of stolen property arrested;
16 auto-theft cases solved & 17 motorcycles recovered.

                With the arrest of two auto-lifters Rahul Sharma and Ashwani Kumar, and two receivers of stolen property namely Pappu and Dinesh Kumar Police Station Janak Puri, West District has busted a gang of active auto-lifters.  16 cases of auto theft have been worked out and 17 motorcycles have been recovered.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED:-
1.   Rahul Sharma S/o Bijender Sharma R/o RZB/195, Gali No.12, Durga Park West Sagar Pur, Delhi is 22 years old and studied upto 10th class. He left his studies because of poverty and started working as supervisor in Metro Project on contract basis. Prior to this, he was working in Call Centers.  After expiry of the contract, he could not get any job and started stealing bikes with his associate Ashwani to bear his expanses. In this way, he was getting easy money to accomplish his luxurious lifestyle.
2.   Ashwani kumar S/o Lt. Sh. Satender Kumar Gupta R/o RZ-169/193 Durga Park, Gali No. 12, West Sagar Pur, Nasir Pur Road Delhi is 23 years old and studied upto 10th class. He is residing with his mother and was working privately. He became familiar to Rahul and started stealing bikes with him. In this way, he was getting good money for the fulfillment of his needs and monetary lust.

Profile of the Junk Dealers:-

1.    Pappu S/o Ram Ladaite R/o D-125, Dashrath Puri Delhi, permanent resident of village Dokiya PO. Chandeli PS. Pihani Distt. Hardoi UP. Age 28 years. He studied upto 5th class and due to poverty, he could not precede his study. He came to Delhi and started working as kabari/Junk dealer. He used to purchase the batteries from accused Rahul and Ashwani. One battery has been recovered from his possession, which he had purchased from accused persons.
2.    Dinesh Kumar S/o Late. Suraj Bhan R/o 152, Dabri Village New Delhi, Age- 33 years. He studied upto Graduation standard from Delhi University (Correspondence Course). He is working at a computer hardware shop. Four batteries have been recovered from his possession, which he had purchased from accused persons.

4.    FIR No. 1430/14 U/s 379 IPC PS. Hari Nagar. DL6SAJ-0482 Pulsar stolen from PS. Hari Nagar area.

Motorcycles which have been stolen and later found abandoned at different places:-

13.     Case FIR No. 296/15 U/s 379 IPC PS. Janak Puri. In this case recovery is yet to made.

Batteries recovered:-  one battery has been recovered from the possession of Pappu and 4 batteries have been recovered from the possession of Dinesh Kumar.

   Complainant Rakesh Dubey reported that he had parked his motorcycle bearing No. DL-5ST-6160 in the morning at Community Center Janak Puri. During the lunch time, he noticed that his motorcycle was not there. On this, a case vide FIR No. 297/15 U/s 379 IPC was registered at PS Janak Puri and the investigation was taken up earnestly.
                       Recently, a drive to install the CCTVs on the busy markets, service roads and main roads has been launched and CCTVs were also installed at the place from where the motorcycle was stolen. On the basis of CCTV Footage, a trap to arrest the accused persons under the supervision of Insp. Ram Swaroop Meena SHO/Janak Puri was laid. Ultimately, above mentioned two auto-lifters were arrested. With their arrest, 16 cases of auto theft have been worked out and 17 motorcycles have been recovered at their instances. Rest 13 motorcycles have been found abandoned at various places. Both the accused removed the batteries and petrol at lonely places and used to sell these batteries to junk dealers Pappu and Dinesh Kumar. Hence, both the junk dealers have also been arrested.


After the registration of the above case, investigation was taken up. CCTV footages were scanned and in the footages, two persons were noticed.  Staff in plain clothes along with parking attendants were deployed  to nab the auto lifters. One of them namely Rahul Sharma was found wandering in Janak Cinema Complex.  He  was arrested by the staff and one  stolen motorcycle pulsar bearing registration No. DL-5-ST-6160 was recovered. He further confessed that he and his other associate Ashwani kumar used to steal the vehicles. At the instance of Rahul Sharma his associate  Ashwani was arrested.
Both the accused were interrogated at length and during sustained interrogation, they confessed that they had stolen 17 motorcycles and they used to remove the batteries and petrol from the bikes and left them abandoned. They further disclosed that they used to sell these batteries to junk dealer and petrol to the other persons in the locality at a cheaper price.

              Both the accused after stealing the vehicles, used to remove the batteries and patrol from bikes and thereafter left the vehicle abandoned. They used to choose lonely place so that no one can noticed them. They also confessed that they either used master key or break the lock to steal the vehicles.
