Two Members of International White Sandal Wood Smuggler Gang Arrested

On 23/12/2015 with the arrest of Two Smuggler of white Sandal Wood (Chandan Wood), total487 Kg Approx. white Sandal Woodworth about Rs. 1.25 Crore (in the international market) recovered on their instance from T-510, Baljeet Nagar, Patel Nagar, New Delhi. The sandal wood was brought to Delhi via Himachal Pradesh.

INCIDENT /BRIEF FACTS:

On receipt of secret information on 23/12/2015 a team of Police Officials of

Police Station Kotwali was formed and a trap was laid down opposite Old Delhi Railway Station Exit Gate in the area of PS Kotwali from where two persons later on identified as namely 1. Birbal Yadav s/o Sh. Girdhari Yadav r/o T-510, C/85, Baljeet Nagar, Patel Nagar, Delhi 2. Jitender Yadav s/o Sh. Girdhari Yadav r/o T-510, C/85, Baljeet Nagar, Patel Nagar, Delhi got apprehended having sample of banned sandal wood in their possession. One Chinese national involved in smuggling namely Chen. XI GUI managed to escape from the spot. Both the apprehended accused persons deeply interrogated and they disclosed that they came opposite Old Delhi Railway Station to settle the deal with some Chinese  smugglers. During further sustained interrogation total 487 Kg Approx. white sandal wood worth about Rs. 1.25 Crore were recovered from T-510, Baljeet Nagar, Patel Nagar, New Delhi on their instance. A case FIR No. 1197/15 dated 23/12/2015 u/s 379/411/34 IPC & 2/33/42/54/64 Indian Forest Act has been registered in PS Kotwali, Delhi and both the above accused have been arrested in this case. The efforts were made to apprehend the Chinese Smuggler and raid was conducted at East House,  Aruna Nagar Colony, Majnu Ka Tilla, Delhi but he did not find there. The copies of passport have been obtained from the Hotel and further efforts are continue.

RECOVERY :-

Banned white sandal wood 487 Kg Approx. sandal wood worth about Rs. 1.25 Crore (according to international market)

BACKGROUND OF ACCUSED PERSONS :-

     Both the accused persons are real brothers and driver in profession. Both are permanent resident of Distt. Jamui, Bihar and presently residing at T-510, C/85, Baljeet Nagar, Patel Nagar, Delhi:-

1.     Accused Birbal Yadav s/o Sh. Girdhari Yadav r/o T-510, C/85, Baljeet Nagar, Patel Nagar, Delhi aged 32 years :- He is studied up to 8th class. He has no previous criminal involvement.

2.     Jitender Yadav s/o Sh. Girdhari Yadav r/o T-510, C/85, Baljeet Nagar, Patel Nagar, Delhi aged 26 years :- He is studied up to 4th class. He has no previous criminal involvement.
