Karate Gang of Pickpockets Busted by North West District

The staff of AATS/North West District has arrested three pickpockets namely Nand Kishore @ Nandu @ Karate s/o Raja Ram r/o Plot No. 28, Ankurdham Colony, Karala, Delhi, Tanvir Alam s/o Badruddine r/o D-4/88, Sultan Puri, Delhi & Deepak Pathak s/o Dhrambir Pathak r/o D-1/61, Partap Vihar, Kirari, Nangloi, Delhi and recovered one country made pistol alongwith 06 live cartridges from their possession. Accordingly a case vide FIR No. 1583/15, dt. 21.12.15, u/s 25/35/54/59 Arms Act, at PS Shalimar Bagh, Delhi was registered.

INCIDENT

                        With a view to keep a check on the incidents of pick pocketing in crowded buses, the Anti Auto Theft Squad of North-West District was sensitized to apprehend such criminals in the area of North-West District.  On 21.12.15, a secret information was received that three listed criminals would come at Outer Ring Road to commit the offence of Pick Pocketing in crowded buses.

        Acting on the tip off the secret information a team comprising SI Ved Parkash, ASI Shesdhar, H.C Naresh, Ct. Summit, Ct. Anoop, Ct. Deepak  was constituted under the supervision of Insp. Arun Kumar AATS and overall supervision of Sh. RK Ojha ACP/Operations North-West District.  The team kept a vigil from Madhuban Chowk to Mukerba Bye Pass at Outer Ring Road, Delhi and met with success by apprehending three youths in a Maruti Esteem Car bearing No. HR-26N-5595. During search a Country made Pistol along with 06 live cartridges was recovered from their possession.

INTERROGATION
                On sustained interrogation, it was revealed that the above said accused persons frequently commit pick pocketing in the crowded buses.

The kingpin, namely Karate is running such gangs of pick pockets. He has recruited 20-25 persons in his gang including some ladies. They mainly operated on Ring Road. They used to chase the crowded buses by their car while some of their associates are in the buses to commit pick pocket (particularly laptops) and other valuable items. If anybody resist, they show Pistol on him.      
                  

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS

1.   Accused Nand Kishore @ Nandu @ Karat (aged 45 Years) is the gang leader. At the early age, he fell in the society of anti social elements; and started committing theft. After some time made his own gang and recruited 20-25 boys in his company of pickpockets including some ladies.  First time he was arrested in case of Arms Act in 1992, in a case of pickpocket by Dev Nagar, Crime Branch, Delhi. Thereafter, he continuously engaged himself in pick pocket and made it his profession. He started pick pocketing in the buses, being the soft target. As per criminal record he is involved in 28 cases including Arms act.
2.   Accused Tanvir Alam (aged 43 Years) hails from Basai Dara Pur, Delhi is a school dropout.  He also fell in bad company and started committing pickpocket to earn easy money.  He was first arrested in 2003 in an  Arms Act case. As per criminal record he is involved in 8 cases including Arms act.
3.   Accused Deepak Pathak (aged 52 Years) hails from Budaun, UP and has studied up to 8th standard.  He fell in the society of anti-social elements at an early age and started committing pick pocket.  He was first arrested in 2008 in a theft case at P.S Saraswati Vihar, Delhi. Thereafter, he continuously engaged himself in pick pocketing and made it his profession. As per criminal record he is involved in 2 cases.

                Their other involvement in other incidents is being verified.

Imposter IPS Officer Arrested; an Academic Who Became a Cheat to Realize His Dream Unfulfilled

A team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Rahul Sawhney and Sanjay Kumar has arrested a cheat who impersonated as an IPS officer to cheat several persons in Delhi. On 23/02/2015,one Kultar Singh,s/o Late Raj Singh, r/o F-10, Gali No.2, Krishna Park, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi who runs a shop dealing with sale purchase of mobile phones in Gaffar Market of Karolbagh, Delhi made a complaint stating therein that a person in the name of ‘Satheesh Nair’ who had introduced himself as an IPS officer of Jaipur, Rajasthan, had come to his shop on 30/01/2015 and had purchased two mobile phones in exchange of two old phones by paying an amount of money.
