Information was received by HC Sudama, posted in AATS/ West district that a person namely Sanjay, alongwith his four associates is actively involved in theft and the gang has stolen sports shoes in huge quantity from a godown in Mundka. The gang intended to sell off the stolen shoes in Agra, U.P. and would pass through Mundka-Karala road in two mini tempos loaded with stolen property to proceed to Agra. The tempos would be the same that were used by the thieves in stealing the property.

Accordingly, after due legal process, a team comprising of ASI Dipender Singh, ASI Dilbag Singh, HC Sudama, HC Naveen Kumar, Ct. Ajay Kumar, Ct. Virender, Ct. Naveen Kumar and Ct. Amit Kumar No. 3347/W, under the leadership of Inspector Bal Krishan Badola, Inspector/ AATS/West and overall supervision of Sh. Dinesh Kumar, ACP/ Operations/West was constituted to act promptly and further develop the information. The team started monitoring of vehicles coming from Ranikhera village near railway underpass, Mundka-Karala road, Mundka, Delhi.
Two mini tempos bearing registration No. DL1LV 9118 (Mahindra Maximo) and No. DL1LS 3432 (TATA Ace) coming from Ranikhera village side were spotted. On pointing out of the informer, the alert team swiftly swung into action and blocked the road by obliquely stopping the TATA-407 on the road. All five persons including both the tempo drivers were apprehended.

On enquiry, they introduced themselves as above. Both the tempos were found loaded with cartons. During interrogation, they told that the tempos are loaded with sports shoes. They were asked to produce the relevant documents, but they could not produce the same and tried to mislead the team by presenting wrong facts. After a little dodging, they disclosed that the entire consignment was stolen by them a few days ago from a godown located in Mundka area and they were going to sell them off. It revealed that a case FIR No 646/15, dt. 15/12/2015, U/S 457/380 IPC is registered in this regard at P. S. Mundka, Delhi. Accordingly, the entire consignment i.e. 875 pairs of sports shoes of ‘Stalker’ brand packed in total 38 cartons alongwith both the tempos were taken into police possession and the accused persons were immediately arrested.

DISCLOSURE & MODUS OPERANDI: -
Later, the accused persons were put to sustained interrogation and it revealed that the leader of the gang namely Sanjay came in contact with a person namely Suraj, who is an employee at the godown. Suraj and Sanjay both hatched the conspiracy to steal the shoes from godown. In order to execute their plan, both got prepared a duplicate key of the godown.

On the intervening night of 14 & 15/12/2015, Sanjay called his associates Anil Kumar, Sanjeev @ Bihari, Vinod Raj Kumar @ Raju and Shekhar. Anil Kumar and Vinod have their own tempos and their tempos were used in commission of crime. They opened the lock of the godown with the help of duplicate key and loaded as much as possible cartons in both the tempos. They had kept the stolen property loaded in both the tempos at a secluded place in village Ranikhera. They intended to sell the shoes in Agra.

Accused Sanjay is the leader of gang, who is previously involved in two criminal cases. The remaining accused persons are first timers and were financially lured by Sanjay to assist him. Accused Shekhar and Suraj are still at large and raids are being conducted to nab them too. Further interrogation of the accused persons is in progress. The staff who have done the above good work are being suitably rewarded.
