Certificate of Recognition awarded to Delhi Police by Hon’ble External Affairs Minister, Smt. Sushma Swaraj

Today, i.e. 26.06.2015, a Certificate of Recognition was awarded to Delhi Police by Hon’ble External Affairs Minister, Smt. Sushma Swaraj at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan on the occasion of Passport Seva Divas as one of the 3 best States of India in acknowledgment of the high level of service, commitment and contribution to good governance by way of speedy verification of passport applicants during 2014-15. The Certificate was received by Shri Balaji Srivastava, Special Commissioner of Police, Intelligence, Delhi.

2. Special Branch of Delhi Police conducts field enquiries in respect of passport applications based on online passport verification software of Ministry of External Affairs. The applications, which are received online in Special Branch office from RPO, Delhi are sorted out among the 11 zones in Delhi, field enquiry is conducted through domiciliary visit and thereafter the verification reports are uploaded online, after checking the criminal record of the applicants if any.   The time limit fixed by RPO to send the verification report is 20 days but the enquiry officers of Special Branch are conducting the verification on an average of 15 to 16 days.
   
      3. Last year also, the Certificate of Recognition on the occasion of Passport Seva Divas was given to Delhi Police as one of the 4 best States of India for good governance.

Imposter IPS Officer Arrested; an Academic Who Became a Cheat to Realize His Dream Unfulfilled

A team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Rahul Sawhney and Sanjay Kumar has arrested a cheat who impersonated as an IPS officer to cheat several persons in Delhi. On 23/02/2015,one Kultar Singh,s/o Late Raj Singh, r/o F-10, Gali No.2, Krishna Park, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi who runs a shop dealing with sale purchase of mobile phones in Gaffar Market of Karolbagh, Delhi made a complaint stating therein that a person in the name of ‘Satheesh Nair’ who had introduced himself as an IPS officer of Jaipur, Rajasthan, had come to his shop on 30/01/2015 and had purchased two mobile phones in exchange of two old phones by paying an amount of money. During the course of interaction,Satheesh Nair had shown his Identity Card to this complainant to convince him that he was an IPS officer presently posted in Jaipur, Rajasthan and was expecting his next posting in Delhi.
