Proactive And Prompt Action Of Police Staff Of Jahangir Puri Averted Majaor Fire Incident

On 29-09-2015 a PCR call  was received at P.S. Jahangirpuri regarding fire at  Jhuggi No. K-2-530, Jahangirpuri, Delhi. The information was  passed to ASI Vijay Kumar, No. 3070/NW, who rushed to the spot along with HC Krishan, No. 1693/NW. They found jhuggi No. K-2/206/91 on fire. The fire was apparently due to leakage of LPG cylinder pipe. ASI Vijay Kumar and HC Krishan Kumar turned off the knob of the cylinder and removed the LPG Cylinder and other inflammatory items lying in the jhuggi promptly without wasting time. They poured water and mud on the fire and extinguished it.  Two fire tenders also reached  the spot but the fire was already extinguished manually by ASI Vijay Kumar and HC Krishan Kumar with the help of residents of the locality.

Timely and prompt  action  by ASI Vijay  Kumar and HC Krishan Kumar have restricted the spreading of fire which would have turned into a major fire incident as the Jhuggies are closely adjacent to each other and made of wood, grass and polythin sheets.  Moreover, the incident took place in the morning hour when mostly all family members were present in their Jhuggies. Had the staff namely ASI Vijay Kumar and HC Krishan not acted timely the incident would have caused loss of many precious lives and property.
Residents of the area acknowledged the brave act of ASI Vijay Kumar and HC Krishan and conveyed thanks personally  to the undersigned for timely action of the police.
