Interstate Dhruv Gang Involved in Godown Burglaries Busted

Crime Branch has succeeded in cracking an interstate gang with the arrest of five desperate burglars namely (i) Anand Kumar @ Mithilesh Kumar (23 yrs) s/o Ramayan Sahani r/o Vill. Madhopur Malai Tola, Distt. Bettiah, Bihar, (ii) Laxman Shah (40 yrs) s/o Dhukran Shah r/o Vill. Shripur Tola Dharampur, Block Motihari, Distt. East Champaran, Bihar, (iii) Israr @ Munna (23 yrs) s/o Shiraz r/o Vill. Madhopur Shitoli, Distt. Bettiah, Bihar, (iv) Shibu Kumar (23 yrs) s/o Krishna Shahni r/o Vill. Madhopur Malaitola, Distt. Betia, Bihar and (v) Satpal (45 yrs) s/o Sultan Singh r/o Vill. Mandhoti, Distt. Jhajjar, Haryana. The gang is involved in more than 15 cases of night burglary of costly articles including PVC pipes, plastic dana, rubber-sheets, plyboards, split air-conditioners, Honda generators, motor-pattas, flour and gram and plastic toys from the different godowns situated in Delhi NCR.

On 02.09.2015, secret information was received by ASI Sukhbir Singh, regarding movement of 4-5 persons from Bihar to Delhi, who were involved in night burglaries in the area of Samaipur Badli and Alipur. Information further entailed that they send stolen articles to Bihar through private transport. Accordingly, a team led by DCP Rajiv Sharma, consisting of ACP N.K. Meena, Inspr. Surender Singh Dalal, SI Shivraj Tyagi, ASIs Sukhbir Singh, Rajender Kumar, Shivender, HCs Sunil, Pradeep, Cts Suresh, Manoj, Ajay, Amit and Ravi Khari was constituted under the close supervision of Addl.CP Alok Kumar to nab them.
Acting on this information, the team nabbed five accused persons namely Anand Kumar @ Mithilesh Kumar, Laxman Shah, Israr @ Munna, Shibu Kumar and Satpal and recovered 144 bundles of PVC pipes of Supreme brand worth 13-14 lac at their instance. One TATA 709 vehicle bearing registration No.DL-1LV-9950, one iron cutter used for cutting the locks of godowns and four mobile phones have also been recovered from them.

During sustained interrogation, they disclosed to have committed more than 15 night burglaries. They would conduct reccee in daytime and cut down the locks of the godown atmidnight and put their own locks. Thereafter, in the early morning (before sunrise), they would reach there alongwith a vehicle. After opening the locks of the godown with keys, they would load the articles in the vehicle in a calm and smooth manner so that the people would assume that they are the rightful owners of the godown. They usually target those godowns which does not bear central locking system in the shutter. Five cases have been worked out with their arrest so far and efforts are on to link more cases.

1.            Anand Kumar@ Mithilesh Kuma has studied upto 4th standard. Earlier, he used to work as a painter at Ghaziabad to earn livelihood. He came in contact of Dilip Sahni and Dhruv, both residents of Bettiah, Bihar one year ago and started committing burglaries with them.
2.            Laxman Shah is illiterate and he earlier used to work in a tea shop at Lahori Gate. Thereafter, he came in contact with Hira Yadav and started committing burglaries in godowns. Later, he joined Dalip Sahni and Dhruv. He is previously involved in 5 cases of burglary.

3.            Israr@ Munna has studied upto 3rd standard at his village. He was working as a labourer in Gujrat. Thereafter, to earn more money, he came to Delhi on the persuasion of Dilip Sahni and Dhruv and started committing burglaries alongwith his associates.
4.            Shibu Kumar is illiterate. He was working at a ‘Dhaba’ in Punjab for last 5-6 years. He came to Delhi on the instructions of Dilip Sahni and Dhruv and started committing crime with them.
5.           Satpal has studied upto 9th standard and works as a driver. He came in contact with Anand Kumar and Laxman Shah, who allured him by offering huge amount for transporting their stolen articles in his tempo from godown to the private transport company.
