MASS DEMONSTRATION HELD AT DELHI CANTONMENT BOARD OFFICE

A mass demonstration was organized under the leadership of Sr. B.J.P.

Leader, Delhi State, Vice Chairman, NDMC and Former MLA Shri Karan

Singh Tanwar today i.e. Friday, the 10 th March 2017 to protest against alleged

physical & sexual harassment act committed by Shri B. Shankar Babu

Reddy, CEO, Delhi Cantonment Board with a female Teacher of the Silver

Oak Public School, who was working there for the last 10 years, and

demanded CEO’s immediate arrest and dismissal. Thousands of residents of

the Delhi Cantonment and workers of the Bhartiya Janta Party participated in the

demonstration and condemned the shameful act of CEO of the Delhi

Cantonment Board.

Besides Shri Tanwar, who actively participated in the mass demonstration,

were Youth leader Shri Bhuvan Tanwar, Shri Jaswant Ram Taneja, BJP Mandal

President, Moti Bagh and Netaji Nagar, Shri Raj Kumar Saini, Mandal Adyaksh.

Approximately 1500 ladies, 800 men and 100 children actively participated in this

demonstration.

Shri Tanwar stated that the demonstrators were carrying play cards

written as “CEO ko giraftaar karo, Mahila ka utpiran karne wale CEO ko barkhast

karo, barkhast karo, crores of rupees ka ghotala karne wale CEO ko giraftaar

karo, giraftaar karo, Gundagardi nahi chalegi, nahi chalegi, CEO ki badmashi

nahi chalegi, Aam Aadmi party murdabaad, murdabaad, CEO ke dalalo ko

giraftaar karo, giraftaar karo, CEO ke gundo ko giraftaar karo, giraftaar karo.

These slogans were airing in loud voice all around there, which were worth to be

witnessed.

Shri Tanwar addressing the thousands of people further stated that CEO,

DelhI Cantonment Board is a very cunning, shrewd and vicious officer, under

whose regime many scandals of corruption worth crores of rupees took place”.

By virtue of his political protection and black money earned by him and using his

good office, he had tortured the victim teacher to extreme humiliation and

harassment. The victim teacher vide her emails dated 30 th December 2016, 11 th ,

21 st and 24 th January 2017 and 16 th February 2017 reported the matter to the

higher authorities against this corrupt officer but unfortunately neither any one

inquired anything from him and nor any action was taken against this erring and

corrupt officer. According to the guide-lines / directions of the Hon’ble

Supreme Court of India, as and when any complaint regarding sexual and

physical harassment and exploitation is registered / lodged with the Police,

as per provisions of law the culprit is supposed to be arrested immediately

and FIR lodged against him. Anyway, how long he will avert his arrest and

action, one fine day he will be definitely be behind the bars.

Shri Tanwar applauded the victim teacher for taking a bold step to

register her complaint to the Police Commissioner and senior officers of

the Ministry of Defence, high-lighting the misdeeds of Shri B. Shankar

Babu Reddy, in writing, otherwise as per Indian culture / tradition, women

generally do not prefer to do so for the sake of their dignity and self respect and

afraid of their name coming in lime light thus to avoid defamation and criticism

and thus fell pray for exploitation. Though the victim teacher was dismissed after

working for ten years without assigning any reason and without any notice, but

she never lost her courage and filed a written complaint against the erring CEO

with firm determination for the sake of her dignity. No doubt she had set a live

example for other women of the society.

Shri Tanwar further stated that the bitter memories of NIRBHAYA CASE

held on 16 th December 2012 is still alive in the heart of the common man,

which forced every citizen to cry terribly. Thereafter many steps were taken

at various higher levels to ensure such incidents are not repeated in

future. Shri Anil Baijal, Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Delhi also stressed for the

welfare and security of the females. Not only this Shri Amulya Patnaik,

Commissioner of Police, Delhi has also laid emphasis and set up priorities

for the welfare and security of women. Inspite of all this, a female teacher

of Silver Oak Public School had been subjected to physical harassment

and exploitation is awaiting justice, is really very shameful.

Shri Tanwar further stated that the Hon’be Prime Minister of India,

the most popular personality, has accorded his first priority for Safety of

Women, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and self respect of a women for

protection of their dignity. On the contrary the leaders of the Aam Aadmi

Party, Congress Party and the CEO and his goons along with other brokers or

their agents may make number of efforts to malign the dignity of women but their

efforts will be futile as the victim will won ultimately and get justice.

Shri Tanwar further stated the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party and

Congers Party are making all out efforts to hide his misdeeds and protect the

CEO of the Board even after his involvement in this heinous crime of assaulting

the dignity of a women. This also shows their mentality towards women in the

society. AAP & Congress Party leaders are only pretending to be concerned by

shedding crocodile tears but thereality is far away. This is the live example of

their concern.

Shri Tanwar also stated that a Women Commission under the

chairmanship of Mrs. Swati Maliwal is also functioning under the control and

guidance of Shri Arvind Kejriwal, CM, Delhi to protect the dignity and self respect

of a women. Unfortunately no action has been taken by this commission inspite

of the fact that a complaint already got registered with Delhi Women

Commission on 28.12.2016 by the victim teacher of Silver Oak Public School, is

really very strange and far from reality in the absence of any action against the

culprit.

Shri Tanwar also stated that he met Shri Anil Baijal, Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Delhi

and Shri Amulya Patnaik, Police Commissioner, Delhi yesterday i.e. on Tuesday,

the 7 th March 2017, regarding physical and sexual harassment of a female

teacher of Silver Oak Public School, Delhi Cantt. Both the learned officers

assured for taking stern action against the culprit. It was really unfortunate

that no action has been taken in the matter as yet.

While concluding Shri Tanwar appealed to Hon’ble Home Minister,

Shri Raj Nath Singh Ji and Hon’ble Defence Minister, Shri Manohar Parrikar

Ji to kindly take necessary action for dismissal and arrest of CEO, Delhi

Cantonment Board, on priority, otherwise Shri Tanwar will continue to fight

till grant of justice to the victim teacher.
