Inauguration of Annual Road Safety Exhibition - 2015

The Annual Road Safety Exhibition – 2015 with the theme Lane Discipline and Safe Pedestrian was inaugurated in a special function by Smt. Vimla Mehra, Special Commissioner of Police (DG-Scale) Administration, on 16th November 2015 at Traffic Pavilion Pragati Maidan at 1030 hours in the presence of Senior Delhi Police officers and other dignitaries. Dr. Muktesh Chander, Spl. Commissioner of Police/Traffic gave the welcome address and called upon the assembled guests to exercise safety while on roads. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest Smt. Vimla Mehra appreciated the educational and awareness campaigns organized by Delhi Traffic Police to sensitize school children and grownups about the importance of obeying traffic rules and road safety norms.  School children presented cultural activities based on road safety themes such as Song, skit, Qawwali, nukkar natak, etc. Sh. Sandeep Goel, Jt. Commissioner of Police/Traffic presented the vote of thanks. 


The exhibition will be open for public throughout the year and during the period of Trade Fair till 27th November 2015 various interesting activities such as painting and quiz competition, nukkar natak, magic show, puppet show, road safety games, rendition of melodious music by Delhi Police band will be organized. In addition, there will be two-wheeler rider training on simulator for adults above 18 years of age wherein they can assess their two wheeler riding skills, practical riding on bikes for kids in the age group of 9 – 12 years and cycling for children in the age group of 4 to 12 years from 1000 hrs to 1800 hrs. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of various competitions. Road Safety kits containing literatures, games, etc will also be distributed to the visitors.
