Desperate Robber Arrested after Encounter

The staff of Police Station Sunlight Colony, South-East District has arrested a desperate robber namely Furkan aged 22 years s/o Shahid Kureshi r/o Lodhi Wali Gali, Post Narsal Ghat, Bulandshahar, UP in an encounter after a long chase by police party from Maharani Bagh to Nehru Nagar on 13.10.15. One country made pistol with six live cartridges were recovered from his possession.

TEAM AND OPERATION
         In the recent past, it was noticed that two motorcycle borne criminals had been committing robbery on a yellow colour motorcycle (without rear number plate) in Sunlight Colony and the adjoining areas who used to fire from pistols while committing the crime to put pressure on the public. It was also analysed that these criminals are using NH-24 and Sarai Kale Khan Ring Road to approach and escape. Accordingly, pickets were deployed at Nizamuddin Bridge NH-24 and Red Light Sarai Kale Khan during day as also late in the evening. The staff deployed on these pickets was specifically briefed to remain vigilant to trace the said yellow motorcycle.

          Like other days, on 13.10.15 also at about 10 PM, SI Lalit I/C PP Sarai Kale Khan along with Ct. Rajesh and Ct. Devender were present at Red Light Sarai Kale Khan, Ring Road. Meanwhile, they noticed a yellow motorcycle without rear number plate that was going towards Ashram Chowk. SI Lalit passed this information on wireless and immediately started chasing them alongwith staff on their motorcycles. The entire staff on route was also alerted with the direction to intercept this motorcycle. SI Bijender Singh along with Ct. Sube Singh of PS Sunlight Colony were present at Bus Stand Maharani Bagh, Ring Road. They also started checking of vehicles plying from Sarai Kale Khan to Ashram Chowk. Within few minutes, two boys riding on a yellow colour motorcycle without helmet were seen coming from Sarai Kale Khan side. They were signaled to stop on which the pillion rider took out a country made pistol and threatened the police staff. Without caring for their life, the staff advanced to apprehend them on which the pillion rider opened fire from his pistol and injured the right wrist of SI Bijender Singh. By this time, SI Lalit along with staff also reached the spot. Meanwhile, the pillion rider lost balance and got down the motorcycle and ran towards Ashram Chowk Railway Line in a bid to


escape and continued firing. However, he struck with a vehicle and fell down and was apprehended by SI Lalit Kumar along with staff whereas the motorcycle rider managed to escape from the spot who also fired on the police staff. On the cursory search of the apprehended accused, one country made pistol along with six live cartridges were recovered. Besides, one fired cartridge from the pistol and two fired cartridges from the spot were also recovered. He was identified as Furkan r/o Bulandshahar, UP whereas the one who escaped was identified as Shahjad.  Consequently, a case vide FIR No. 715/15 dated 14.10.15 under appropriate sections of law was registered at PS Sunlight Colony and accused was arrested. 

INTERROGATION & MODUS OPERANDI
         Accused Furkan was subjected to sustained interrogation in which he disclosed that he along with his maternal uncle (Mama) Shahjad s/o Habib r/o Vill. Pahasu, Distt. Bulandshahar, UP are presently residing at Behrampur, Noida, UP. They used to commit robberies on the motorcycle with the passersby in the areas of East, South-East District and South District of Delhi. They used to carry country made pistols to thwart resistance from public. They disclosed their involvement in several cases of robbery with similar modus operandi which are being verified.

          Further investigation is under progress.

PROFILE
         Accused Furkan is illiterate. He earlier worked in vegetable market at Bulandshahar, UP and supplied fruits/vegetables but due to poor income, he along with his maternal uncle (Mama) started robbing the people on motorcycle with the help of country made pistol.


Accused Furkan is a desperate robber and he even does not bother to fire on police party. He could be apprehended due to brave act of the police team. The police team involved in this good work is being rewarded suitably.

Imposter IPS Officer Arrested; an Academic Who Became a Cheat to Realize His Dream Unfulfilled

A team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Rahul Sawhney and Sanjay Kumar has arrested a cheat who impersonated as an IPS officer to cheat several persons in Delhi.
