One Pick-Pocket And One Snatcher Arrested : 05 Cases Solved

The Special Staff of South-East District have nabbed two criminals namely Pankaj @ Kalia aged 30 years s/o Pooran Singh r/o H.No. 1317, Gali No. A-2, Madanpur Khadar, JJ Colony, Delhi and Rajesh Kashyap aged 20 years s/o Late Shri Duli Chand r/o S-24/2, Majdoor Kalyan Camp, Okhla Phase-1, Delhi. Five cases of snatching and theft have been solved. Five mobile phones and one TVS Apache motorcycle have been recovered from their possession.


          Due to spurt in the incidents of mobile snatching and theft in the area of South East Distt., Special Staff/SE was tasked to start a drive to nab the criminals involved in such crime. Subsequently, different police teams led by Inspr. Naresh Kumar I/C Special Staff/SE comprising of SI Sandeep Godara, SI Praful Kumar Jha, HC Harveer, HC Suresh Kumar, HC Inderjeet and Ct. Shekhar were constituted under the supervision of Sh. Ashok Saroha, ACP/Operations/SE. The teams worked hard and developed local intelligence in area. Finally, they succeeded to zero in on two persons who were involved in snatching and theft of mobile phones.

On 27.02.15 on the information of the secret source, the team apprehended one Rajesh Kashyap r/o Okhla Phase-1, Delhi at 7.30 PM near Alaknanda Market and recovered two snatched android mobile phones from his possession. Simultaneously, on the same day at the instance of secret informer, the police team also apprehended one Pankaj @ Kalia r/o Madanpur Khadar, JJ Colony, Delhi at 7.00 PM near Sapna Cinema and recovered three android mobile phones from his possession.


Both the accused persons were subjected to sustained interrogation in which they confessed their involvements in different cases with their juvenile associates. Accused Rajesh Kashyap disclosed that he is a driver by profession. His father was expired when he was at the age of five year. About one year ago, he left his job and addicted to alcohol. Thereafter, he came in contact with one Juvenile of his locality and started snatching of mobile phone for his livelihood. He has no previous criminal record. Two mobile phones have been recovered from his possession.

Other accused Pankaj @ Kalia disclosed that about 20 years ago, he came to Delhi in search of labour job. Soon, he started rickshaw pulling. In the year 1996, he joined bad company of pickpockets and was arrested in a case of Pick-Pocketing of PS Kalyan Puri. He further involved in such crime and arrested in Moti Nagar with group of pickpockets. About 08 years ago, he became a smack addict. He was previously involved in 05 other cases. Now he is operating in the area of South East Distt. and committing daily crime with a juvenile associate of Sangam Vihar who used to reside with him at Madan Pur Khadar.

Imposter IPS Officer Arrested; an Academic Who Became a Cheat to Realize His Dream Unfulfilled

A team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Rahul Sawhney and Sanjay Kumar has arrested a cheat who impersonated as an IPS officer to cheat several persons in Delhi. On 23/02/2015,one Kultar Singh,s/o Late Raj Singh, r/o F-10, Gali No.2, Krishna Park, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi who runs a shop dealing with sale purchase of mobile phones in Gaffar Market of Karolbagh, Delhi made a complaint stating therein that a person in the name of ‘Satheesh Nair’ who had introduced himself as an IPS officer of Jaipur, Rajasthan, had come to his shop on 30/01/2015 and had purchased two mobile phones in exchange of two old phones by paying an amount of money.
