More Arrests in Secrecy Espionage

In continuation to the previous updates, Crime Branch has arrested the following two persons during the course of investigation of case vide FIR No. 20/15 dt. 22.02.15 u/s 457/380/465/468/471/411/ 120B/34 IPC, PS Crime Branch:

1)            Vipan Kumar (42 yrs.) r/o Dayanand Colony, Sarai Rohilla, Delhi.
2)            Jatinder Nagpal (40 yrs.) r/o Hari Nagar, Delhi.

Accused Vipan Kumar had joined service as a Stenographer Grade D in Ministry of Petroleum in 1996 and is presently posted as PA to a Member of UPSC. Earlier, he has MoPNG from 1996 to 2010 and was getting important/secret documents himself as well as with the help of his contacts, mainly from MoPNG.

Accused Jatinder Nagpal had also joined service as a Stenographer D in 1994 in the Ministry of Law & Justice. He is presently posted as PS to a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Forest. He has mostly served in Ministry of Law from 1994-2007, with a short stint of two years (2001-03) in Ministry of Chemical & Fertilizers. He used to procure the documents from Vipan Kumar, Lokesh Sharma & others.
     
Both of them have disclosed that they are indulging in this illegal activity since many years. They shared a common e-mail Id which was being used to forward documents to some of their clients. They were produced in the Court and have been remanded to 5 days police custody.

Accused Lokesh Sharma was earlier arrested in the case for his involvement in procuring/stealing official/secret documents from Ministries of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Coal in Shastri Bhawan and Ministry of Power, Shram Shakti Bhawan, Rafi Marg, Delhi with the help of his associates in connivance with some staff of these Ministries.

So far, 3 persons have been arrested in case FIR No. 20/15, PS Crime Branch, while 13 have been arrested in similar case FIR No. 17/15. Role of some other persons is being examined and thorough investigation into all aspects is in progress.
