Person Involved in Creating Fake Identities Arrested

During investigation of the espionage case in which five persons were arrested for providing secret and confidential information to Pakistan based agencies, it was revealed that the PIO (Pakistan’s Intelligence Operative) was using a Delhi Vodafone number from Indo-Pak border to contact his agents in India. Investigation revealed that the said number was issued from Delhi on fake ID.
        Looking into the seriousness of this matter of numbers issued on fake IDs being used not only by the criminals and anti social elements to conceal their identity but also by PIOs for anti national activities, a team of Inter State Cell worked earnestly and arrested one accused namely Ankush Khandelwal and 205 pre activated SIM cards were recovered from him.
INFORMATION AND ARREST: -
        During the investigation of this case, it was established that one Mohit Gupta, proprietor of M/s Connection Planet, located at Shakurpur, Delhi was involved in creating fake IDs and the same IDs were being used for getting issued SIM cards and then activating them. It was also revealed that he used to prepare fake IDs for all the persons not having any residence proof. On this information, a team of Inter State Cell led by ACP KPS Malhotra and consisting of Inspr. PC Yadav, SIs Mandeep, Sandeep, HCs Dinesh, Kartar, Santraj, Suresh, Cts. Sandeep, Deepak, Vinod, Omprakash and Rajesh was constituted under the supervision of DCP Bhisham Singh and the accused Mohit Gupta (33 yrs)  s/o Suresh Chand Gupta r/o K-346, Shakurpur, New Delhi was arrested.
        Several fake IDs, blank Customer Acquisition Forms (CAFs) were recovered from Mohit. During the screening of his personal laptop, more than 1000 fake IDs and equal number of photographs of different persons were found in a folder. Interrogation of the accused revealed that he was using these fake Id’s for getting SIM cards activated and then selling the pre activated SIM cards for Rs.500 to Rs.700 each without obtaining any identification documents from the purchaser. He also used to create IDs for those who had no address proof in Delhi for money.
        Accused Mohit Gupta is a permanent resident of Delhi. His father was a scrap dealer. He has studied upto 9th class and left his studies as he was not good in studies.  In the year 2010, he opened his own telecom shop in the name of Connection Planet in Shakurpur, Delhi. He is an expert in computers and began to use his computer skills for creating fake IDs and activating SIM cards on these fake Id’s and selling the same to different persons for Rs.500 to 700 each.
RECOVERY: -
1.          One laptop containing soft copies of thousands of fake IDs and         photographs.
2.          Printer/Scanner.

3.          Blank Customer Acquisitions Forms (CAFs) and several fake Id’s.
