On

about 12:30 am, a call was received at PS Sarita Vihar that a container
carrying mobile components has been robbed at Road No. 13, Near Sarita Vihar
Flyover, Kalindi Kunj Road, Delhi. On receipt of this call, the local police
reached the spot where driver of the container Ghanshyam r/o Kanpur Dehat, UP
informed that he works in A to Z Transport Company, Ghaziabad, UP. At about
11:30 PM, he alonwith Sarvesh (another driver of the company) were assigned the
task of delivering mobile parts loaded in two containers at Sector 82, Noida
Phase-II, UP. Both of them started from Palam Airport, Delhi with two
containers carrying mobile parts and when he reached Road No. 13, Kalindi Kunj,
Delhi, a white colour car intercepted his container. Two persons alighted from
the car and slapped him and pulled him down from the container at the point of
knife and took away the container. He further informed that shortly after that,
Sarvesh also reached there with second container and made a PCR call. Consequently,
a case of robbery vide FIR No. 261/15 was registered at PS Sarita Vihar and
investigation was taken up.
It was a blind case and
the identity of the assailants was not known to anybody. Two teams led by of Inspr.
Maninder Singh SHO/Sarita Vihar and Inspr. V.S. Rana Investigation/Sarita Vihar
consisting of SI Rakesh, SI Nagander, SI Manish, HC Lalit, HC Satish, Ct.
Rajesh, Ct. Dilshad, Ct. Mukesh, Ct. Satish and Ct. Manish were formed under
the overall supervision of Shri Nidhin Valsan, ACP/Sarita Vihar.
Several sources were deployed
and antecedents of present employees of A to Z Transport as well as those who
had left the job in the recent past were verified. During the course of
investigation, it also came to knowledge that earlier such type of incidents
was also attempted twice by some persons with the drivers of A to Z Transport
Company. After gathering all informations, technical surveillance was also
mounted and it was revealed that driver Sarvesh was frequently using his mobile
phone at the time of taking the delivery of goods. After indepth analysis, the
police team zeroed in on one suspicious number which was in regular touch with driver
Sarvesh. The mobile number was found to be in the name of one Pramod r/o Distt.
Kasganj, UP. On further verification, it was revealed that Pramod earlier
worked as driver in A to Z Transport and about one year ago, he had left the
job. The movements and hideouts of Pramod were ascertained and in the morning
of 02.04.15, a raid was conducted at his native village from where an Eicher
Canter was recovered in which looted articles were found loaded. Accused Pramod
and his accomplices Vinod Kumar Yadav and Parmod Yadav (Both brothers) r/o
Vill. Kasganj, UP were apprehended while they were going to sell the looted goods.
Their accomplice driver Sarvesh was also apprehended. At their instance, looted
canter, knife used in the incident and a Tata Sumo car were also recovered.
All
the accused persons were subjected to sustained interrogation during which it
was learnt that all are drivers by profession and Pramod is the mastermind. He
was earlier working in A to Z Transport Company and had left the job about a
year ago. He aspired to earn easy money and
own a transport company. He contacted Sarvesh and hatched the conspiracy to rob
a loaded canter. Sarvesh was also wanted to purchase his own canter. Pramod
asked Sarvesh to inform him about the delivery of huge & costly goods. 3-4
days prior to the incident, Sarvesh came to know about delivery of goods worth Rs.
25/26 crores. He passed this information to Pramod who along with his
accomplices Manku, Neeraj and Vinesh hatched a plan to rob the goods. Before
executing their plan, Pramod also contacted Vinod Kumar Yadav (working as a
driver at Chauhan Transport, Noida) and his brother Parmod Yadav (working as
driver at A to Z Transport) to arrange for sale of the looted property.
As
per their plan, when the canters carrying goods left Palam Airport, Pramod,
Manku, Neeraj and Vinesh followed in Tata Sumo Car of Vinesh. Driver Sarvesh
was in touch to tell them the location of canters on his mobile phone. When the
canter reached near Sarita Vihar Flyover, Kalindi Kunj Road, they intercepted
the canter and robbed it alongwith the goods at the point of knife and fled
away. They damaged the GPS system in the canter. Their accomplices Vinod Kumar
Yadav and Parmod Yadav followed them in another empty canter. After reaching
Hathras, UP, they transferred articles of the looted canter in the empty canter
and left the looted canter at the roadside to mislead the police and reached
their hideout in District Kasganj, UP from where they were apprehended. Further
investigation is in progress. More arrests and more recovery are likely.
