3 Accused Involved in Sale and Purchase of Spurious Drugs Arrested

A team of officers of the Crime Branch led by Insp. Vivek Pathak consisting of SI Sanjay Neolia, HCs Jitender, Sanjeev Kumar, Ravinder Kumar under the supervision of ACP Ravinder Kumar Tyagi and overall supervision of DCP M.A. Rizvi and Addl.CP Ashok Chand has apprehended 3 accused involved in sale and supply of spurious drugs and has recovered ten cartons of spurious drugs. 

            Information was received on 27.04.2015 by SI Sanjay Neolia that one person namely Manoj who resides somewhere in Pahar Ganj and is indulged in sale/supply and purchase of spurious drugs. The input further entailed that Manoj had stocked spurious drugs in a godown in Gali No. 8, Multani Dhandha, Paharganj and he would be coming to the said godown to deliver the supply of spurious drugs and if a raid is conducted he could be apprehended while committing crime. The information was shared with officers of Drug Enforcement Department, Government of NCT, Delhi.

            Drug Inspectors Sh. Sanjay Kumar and Sh. G. K. Kapoor were deputed by the Drug Department to be part of the raiding party. At the instance of the informer, a raid was conducted at Godown No. 8074, Gali No. 8, Multani Dhanda, Pahar Ganj, Delhi and one accused namely Manoj (43 yrs) s/o Lakhpat Singh r/o Sindhi Colony, Swaroop Nagar, New Delhi, was apprehended. On checking, three cartoons of Zerodol-SP tablets, two cartons of Pantop-D capsules and five cartons of Pantop-DSR containing spurious drugs were found in the godown.

            A case vide FIR No. 63/15, dated 27/04/2015 U/s 18(A)(i)18(c)/27(b)(ii)/ 27(c) of Drugs and Cosmetics Act r.w. 420/468/471 IPC was registered at PS Crime Branch and investigation handed over to SI Shiv Darshan.

            During investigation of the case, at the instance of the accused Manoj, a raid was conducted at Khasra No. 526/607 near Shakt Roadlines, Bhabat, Zirak Pur, District SAS Nagar, Mohali, Punjab and following articles were seized: -

1.                  One strip packing machine used to pack capsules/tablets.

2.                  Three cartons of Pantop-DSR tablets.

3.                  Three cartons of Zifi-200 tablets.

4.                  Three cartons of Althrocin tablets.

5.                  Three cartons of Mesacol tablets.

            Two more accused, namely Amit Dua (37 yrs) s/o Ram Swaroop Dua r/o Him Shikha, Pinjore, Haryana, and Gulab Singh (36 yrs) s/o Phool Kumar r/o Village Pali, Tehsil Narnaud, Distt. Hissar, Haryana, were arrested from the factory premises.

1.                  Amit Dua (37 yrs) s/o Ram Swaroop Dua r/o Him Shikha, Pinjore, Haryana, was subjected to intensive interrogation. During interrogation she has revealed as under:-

            Amit was born on 15.04.1972 in Sada Bazar, Delhi. His father owned a factory namely Dua Pharmacueticals at Bahadur Garh, Haryana. Amit studied upto 8^th standard in DAV public school, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi. Due to family dispute, the said factory was disposed off and Ram Swaroop Dua started a medical shop in Bhagirath Palace, Delhi. Soon after dropping out of school, Amit started marketing Uttam tea. In the year 2003, Amit shifted to Lucknow and started business of spurious drugs. In 2005, he along with Manoj and one Satish were arrested in a case of spurious drugs.

            Soon after coming out of jail, he started working with his elder brother Rajesh in the same field of drugs. In the meanwhile, he also met one “Manoj Topi” who was arrested earlier in a spurious drugs case and is lodged in jail, who introduced him to one Gulab Singh, brother in law of Manoj Topi. Amit with the help of Gulab Singh, took over the factory of Manoj Topi and started manufacturing and supply of spurious drugs. He along with Gulab Singh was apprehended at the instance of Manoj who was initially arrested in the present case.           

2.                  Manoj (43 yrs) s/o Lakhpat Singh r/o Sindhi Colony, Swaroop Nagar, New Delhi, was also subjected to intensive interrogation. During interrogation he has revealed as under: -

            Manoj was born on 31.101972 in village Chandrawal, Delhi. His father was in a Private job in Kamla Nagar. He studied upto primary school from Primary school, Chandrawal and did Middle School from MCD School, Chandrawal. His father expired in 1987. He dropped out of school and started woring as a casual labour in Sadar Bazar area. One Raj Kumar, a cousin of Manoj introduced him to Amit Dua who employed Manoj at his shop namely Dua Pharmacueticals, Bahadur Garh, Haryana. Manoj worked there for six years.  In 2005, Manoj and Amit Dua were arrested in Lucknow in a case of spurious drugs.

            After coming out of jail, Manoj started Gol-Gappa business. He also came in contact with Manoj Topi, “Jija” of Gulab Singh and he again started indulging in spurious drugs business in connivance of Amit Dua and Gulab Singh. Manoj used to cater to the clients in Delhi on commission basis. Amit and Gulab were apprehended at his instance.

3.                  Gulab Singh (36 years) s/o Phool Kumar r/o Village Pali, Tehsil Narnaud, Distt. Hissar, Haryana, was subjected to intensive interrogation. During interrogation she has revealed as under: -

            Born in native village in 30.09.1979, his father runs a grocery shop in his native village. He studied upto 10^th standard from a private school in Hansi. Soon after dropping out of school, he started extending a helping hand to his father in the shop. In 2007, his Jija namely Manoj Topi was arrested in a case of spurious drugs. After the arrest of Manoj Topi,  Gulab in connivance of Amit Dua took over the factory situated at Khasra No. 526/607 near Shakt Roadlines, Bhabat, Zirak Pur, District SAS Nagar, Mohali, Punjab and started supplying spurious drugs. On 29.04.2015 Gulab and Amit were arrested from the same factory with spurious drugs and machinery at the instance of Manoj Kumar.
