Election Commission Launched NERPAP

Error-free Electoral Roll is one of the foundational requirements of the democratic governance. In
this direction , the Election Commission of India has launched National Electoral Rolls, Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP) to take all necessary measures including linking the Elector’s Photo Identity Card ( EPIC) data with the Aadhaar number, for achieving error-free Electoral Roll by 15th August 2015. The Programme has already been started w.e.f. 03.03-2015. Linking of Electoral Roll with Aadhaar is intended to achieve the following:

1.         To prevent duplicity in the enrolment of an elector in the Electoral Roll.
2.         To create hassle free enrolment in the roll at new place of residence in case of           shifting.
3.         To ensure easy removal of multiple entries of an elector from electoral roll .
4.         To authenticate the entry in the Electoral Roll.

            Under this programme Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Delhi Sh. Najeeb Jung linked his Aadhar Number with his/her Electoral data through ECI NVSP portal today on 28.04.2015 in his office at RajNivas. Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi was also present on the occasion. Hon’ble Lt. Governor appreciated the efforts of office of CEO  Delhi under NERPAP programme,  which will go a long way in achieving a healthy electoral roll.  He also urged the voters’ of Delhi to participate in the NERPAP programme by linking their Aadhaar Number with the Electoral detail.

            Up till now, since the launch of NERPAP programme 26.08 lakhs electors in Delhi have linked their Aadhaar Number with their Electoral Data through various modes. An elector can link his/her Aadhar Number with Electoral data online by visiting  www.nvsp.in/www.eci.nic.in/www.ceodelhi.gov.in  ( National Voters’ Service Portal) or   by sending SMS  ECILINK space<VOTERID_NO>space<Aadhaar_No> to 51969 /166, or  by furnishing details at  Voters’ centre of his/her Assembly Constituency.  


            Special drive is also being initiated in which Booth Level Officer’ of all polling stations will collect Aadhaar details from every  house hold.

Imposter IPS Officer Arrested; an Academic Who Became a Cheat to Realize His Dream Unfulfilled

A team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Rahul Sawhney and Sanjay Kumar has arrested a cheat who impersonated as an IPS officer to cheat several persons in Delhi. On 23/02/2015,one Kultar Singh,s/o Late Raj Singh, r/o F-10, Gali No.2, Krishna Park, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi who runs a shop dealing with sale purchase of mobile phones in Gaffar Market of Karolbagh, Delhi made a complaint stating therein that a person in the name of ‘Satheesh Nair’ who had introduced himself as an IPS officer of Jaipur, Rajasthan, had come to his shop on 30/01/2015 and had purchased two mobile phones in exchange of two old phones by paying an amount of money. During the course of interaction,Satheesh Nair had shown his Identity Card to this complainant to convince him that he was an IPS officer presently posted in Jaipur, Rajasthan and was expecting his next posting in Delhi. Crime Branch has arrested two dreaded and desperate criminals namely (1) Gyanender @ Gadgu (29 yrs) s/o Mahender r/o Village Mandhothi, Distt. Jhajjar, Haryana, who is wanted in two sensational cases of murder of Haryana including one that of a brutal massacre, one case of attempt to murder of Badli, Delhi and 3 cases of extortion in Delhi & Haryana and (2) Rajeev Dahiya @ Raju (39 yrs) s/o Sukhbir Singh r/o R-95, Gali No. 15 A, Sawtanter Nagar, Narela, Delhi (permanent address-Village Nahari, Distt.
