2 Notorious Auto Lifters Arrested

With the arrest of 2 notorious auto lifters namely Fariyad @ Farri (age 24 years) s/o Sagir r/o Mohalla Salatin, Kasba & PS Kithor, District Meerut, UP and Salim (age 25 years) s/o Tasrif r/o Mohalla Salatin, Kasba & PS Kithor, District Meerut, UP, a team of Special Staff, South District have busted a gang of interstate auto lifters who were active in the area of Delhi and NCR.  With their arrest, 6 stolen vehicles have been recovered and 10 cases of M. V. theft solved.

Brief facts:

          In order to prevent auto-theft in the area of South District, Special Staff South District was directed to deploy sources to get clue about the auto lifters active in South Delhi and to arrest them.  A team of Special Staff South District comprising SIs Amit Kumar, Gyanender, ASIs Bhagirath, Mahender, HCs Vinod Kumar, Rajender, Manoj, Raj Kumar, Joginder, Ravinder and Cts. Sonu, Naresh, Vijay and Ct. Lakhminder under the leadership of Inspr. Akhileshwar Yadav was constituted.   The team worked relentlessly and deployed sources to get clue about the active auto-lifters.  In the meanwhile, secret information was received that one Fariyad @ Farri r/o Kithor, District Meerut might be actively involved in auto theft in South Delhi after releasing from jail last year.  

         

This information was further developed which revealed that accused Fariyad will go towards NBCC Plaza, Saket on 01.04.15 in a stolen Swift Car by using fake number plate.  Accordingly, a trap was laid at M B Road near Asian Market and on the instance of informer, the said vehicle was signalled to stop for checking but the driver of the said vehicle tried to flee after hitting the barricades but the alert team members acted swiftly and compelled him to stop the car. During this period, accused Salim took out button actuated knife and Fariyad @ Farri took out a Desi Katta but the members of team by making courageous efforts overpowered both the culprits.  One country made pistol along with 2 live cartridges were recovered from Fariyad @ Farri and one button actuated knife was recovered from the possession of accused Salim. 

Interrogation:

          During interrogation, both accused persons disclosed to have stolen about 20 cars and 10 motor cycles from the different area in South Delhi and South East Delhi in the recent past and disposed the stolen vehicles in Meerut. At their instance, 4 more stolen cars and one motor cycle was recovered from different places in UP.

Profile of accused persons:

1.   Accused Fariyad @ Farri (age 24 years) s/o Sagir r/o Mohalla Salatin, Kasba & PS Kithor, District Meerut, UP is illiterate. His father is a farmer. He has 2 brothers and one sister in his family.  He was working with an auto mechanic in Kithor, Meerut.  During this period, he came in contact with bad elements of the area and started auto thefts in Delhi and NCR. Initially, he was arrested by AATS, South District in 2007.  He is previously involved in following criminal cases :

2.   Accused Salim (age 25 years) s/o Tasrif r/o Mohalla Salatin, Kasba & PS Kithor, District Meerut, UP is illiterate.  He is married.  His father is a farmer.  He has 2 brothers and 1 sister in his family. He came in contact with accused Fariyad @ Farri in 2012, a known person being resident of his native place and both of them started vehicle theft. He is previously involved in following criminal cases:
