Six Dreaded Interstate Dacoits Apprehended
A
team of Special Cell, Delhi Police led by Inspector Manoj Dixit and Inspector
Shiv Kumar under the supervision of Sh. Satyavir Singh, ACP, Special Cell,
Southern Range has arrested six notorious robbers viz. (i) Hitender Singh Rawat
@ Chhotu @ Deepak @ Pahari s/o Laxman r/o F-440, Ram Park Extn., Loni,
Ghaziabad, UP, (ii) Deshraj @ Deshu s/o Ramesh Chand r/o 2037, Pili Kothi,
Sitaram Bazaar, Hauz Qazi, Delhi (iii) Shakil s/o Nizamuddin r/o E-41, Inder
Enclave, Phase-II, Kirari Suleman Nagar, Nangloi, Delhi (iv) Rajkumar @ Raja
s/o Radheyshyam r/o G-366, Shakurpur JJ Colony, Delhi, (v) Ramratan s/o Ramlal
r/o F-Block, Near Aggarwal Sweets, Sangam Vihar, Delhi and (vi) Shimaam @
Shivam s/o Anwar Ali r/o 247, Rumal Wali Gali, Rampura, Delhi and recovered two
semi-automatic pistols of .32 bore with 12 live cartridges, three country made
pistols .315 bore with 14 live cartridges, one robbed Swift car and a Discover
motorcycle. Hitender Singh Rawat @ Chhotu and Deshraj @ Deshu had jumped their
paroles granted to them while they were facing trial in a gruesome murder case of
PS Hauz Qazi committed in 2007 and were wanted in a sensational and daring
dacoity case of PS Keshavpuram and a robbery case of PS Samaypur Badli.
INCIDENT
On 06.06.2015, at around
9:00 PM, a sensational and daring dacoity took place near Netaji Subhash Place
in the jurisdiction of PS Keshav Puram, North-West Delhi. The complainant Shri
Mukul Kumar s/o Shri Suresh Kumar r/o A-3-90, sec. 16, Rohini, Delhi was
carrying cash worth Rs. 20 Lakh from Khari Bawli, Delhi alongwith two other
workers in a Swift car to the residence of his employer Saket Aggarwal r/o
Kohat Enclave, Delhi. As they reached
near Netaji Subhash Place, another Swift car suddenly overtook them and stopped
just in front of their car. One of the assailants broke the window pane of the
car with a hammer and another one opened fire at the car but none were injured.
Meanwhile, three other persons came on a motorcycle and fired a shot. All the
three occupants of the car (victims') managed to run from the spot. The robbers
took out the cash kept in the car. Before leaving the spot, they fired at a
motorcycle rider and forcibly took his motorcycle. The bullet hit the rider in
the leg and he was badly injured. They all fled from the scene of crime with
the cash. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 383/15 u/s 395/397/307/34 IPC and 25/27
Arms Act was registered at PS Keshav Puram, Delhi.
OPERATION
Sensing the gravity of the case, the
Special Cell took up the challenge and started developing the information
regarding the case. Sources were deployed in and around Delhi. A special
dedicated team was constituted for the task. After sincere and painstaking
efforts, the team was able to extract vital information on 23.09.2015 that two of
the robbers Hitender Singh Rawat @ Chhotu and Deshraj @ Deshu, who had jumped
their respective parole granted in a murder case of PS Hauz Qazi committed in
2007, would be coming to Dhaula Kuan in a Swift car bearing No. DL5CK-2933 at
about 11 PM to meet one of their associates. Accordingly, a trap was laid at
and around, Dhaula Kuan, Ring Road. At 11:10 PM, two persons came in a Swift
car bearing No. DL5CK-2933 and stopped to wait for someone. After a span of
15-20 minutes, the duo sensed the presence of the police and consequently both
criminals whipped out their pistols in order to target the police team, but
they were overpowered and apprehended. Two semi automatic .32 Bore pistols
alongwith 6 live cartridges from magazines of each pistol were recovered.
Accordingly a case vide FIR No. 58/15 u/s 25/27 Arms Act was registered at PS
Special Cell, New Delhi.
The accused Hitender @ Chhotu was
subjected to extensive interrogation wherein he disclosed that he was lodged in
Tihar jail for the last 7 years and used to come out of the jail on parole at regular
intervals. Lastly, he was released on parole on 09.04.2015, for a period of one
week. He was to surrender in the jail on 15.04.2015, but he jumped the parole.
After having been released on parole in April 2015, he alongwith his associates
committed a number of dacoities/robberies. It was also revealed during his
interrogation that he is the younger brother of one Brijesh @ Birju, a
notorious gangster who was killed in an encounter with Delhi Police in the area
of PS Patel Nagar in 1998.
Subsequently during the sustained
interrogation Hitender Rawat @ Chhotu also disclosed that the other gang
members are also operating in Delhi and NCR. The gang members had also robbed
numerous persons by drugging them. At
this information, four other gang members namely Shimaam, Ramratan, Shakil and
Rajkumar @ Raja were apprehended near Batra Hospital, Delhi. Three country made
pistols of .315 bore alongwith 14 live cartridges were recovered from their
possession and a case under Arms Act has been registered in this regard.
CASES
WORKED OUT :-
1. On 11.04.2015, Hitender Rawat @ Chhotu
alongwith Sonu @ Nepali, Bablu Rawat, Ankit, Aman, Rahul, Sunny @ Kainchi and
Baali robbed Rs. 10 Lacs in cash and a Toyota Altis car in a very daring manner
after firing and subsequently fled from the scene of crime. In this regard a
case FIR No. 454/15 u/s 392/397/34 IPC was registered at PS Samaypur Badli,
Delhi.
2. On 20.05.2015, Hitender Rawat @ Chhotu
alongwith Sonu, Deshraj @ Deshu, Aman and Ankit hired a Maruti Swift car from a
taxi stand in Laxmi Nagar for Haridwar. When they reached Meerut bypass they
threw away the driver of Swift car after tying his hands and legs and fled with
the Swift car. A case vide was registered at PS Partapur, Meerut (UP). The said
car has been recovered from Hitender Rawat @ Chhotu and Deshraj @ Deshu, which
they had been using after changing its number plate.
3. On 06.06.2015, Hitender Rawat @ Chhotu
alongwith Shambhu, Manoj, Aman, Deshraj @ Deshu, Rahul, Ankit, Sonu committed a
sensational and daring dacoity of Rs. 20 Lacs in the area of PS Keshavpuram and
also injured a motorcycle rider by firing. A case vide FIR No. 383/15 u/s
395/397/307/34 IPC and 25/27 Arms Act was registered at PS Keshavpuram. Shambhu
and Aman have already been arrested in the said case. Besides, one Rajju, who
was not actually involved in the said case has also been arrested u/s 411 IPC
for being found in possession of looted property.
4. On 30.12.2014, they hired a cab from
Lajpat Nagar to IGI Airport when the cab reached near Tuglakabad Extn., they
stopped the cab and offered sedative laced cold drink to the driver. When the
driver became unconscious, they fled with the cab and also Rs. 5000/-. In this
regard a case FIR No. 1418/14 u/s 328/379/34 IPC was registered at PS
Govindpuri, Delhi.
5. On 03.04.2015, they robbed Rs. 6000/-
and other belongings from a passenger named Arjun Prajapati in a TSR, near the underpass
at Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, after making the victim unconscious by dosing him with
their drug soaked handkerchief. A case vide FIR No. 282/15 u/s 328/34/379 IPC
was registered at PS Nangloi, Delhi.
6. On 11.04.15, they robbed Rs.
1,20,000/- cash from a person waiting for a bus near Hasanpur bus depot by
putting a sedative soaked handkerchief on his face. A case vide FIR No. 369/15
u/s 328/379 IPC was registered at PS Madhu Vihar, Delhi.
7. On 27.05.15, they robbed Rs. 7000/-
and other belongings from a passenger named Gurudayal in a TSR near Nangloi bus
stand after offering sedative laced toffees to make him unconscious. A case
vide FIR No. 419/15 u/s 328/34/379 IPC was registered at PS Nangloi, Delhi.
8. On 07.06.15, they robbed an e-rickshaw
from Gurudutt near Keshavpuram Mandi after offering sedative laced cold-drink
to make him unconscious. A case FIR No. 730/15 u/s 328/34/379 IPC was
registered at PS Uttam Nagar, Delhi
On 20.08.15, some persons sitting in the car approached
the victim, who was standing below Shivaji Park metro station, and the driver
of the car enquired about some address from the victim. When the victim came
near the car they put some anesthetic substance on his face that made him
unconscious and robbed him of Rs. 2.97 Lacs and belongings. A case vide FIR No.
860/15 u/s 328/34/379 IPC was registered at PS Punjabi Bagh, Delhi.
