RAPIST SELF-STYLED EXORCIST ARRESTED
The staff of P.S. Mianwali Nagar, West
District have arrested one rapist namely Sohaib Alam (50 years) S/o
Ali Hassan R/o Jwalapuri, Delhi, working
as witchcraft
INCIDENT
& INVESTIGATION: - A PCR Call regarding rape was received at PS
Mianwali Nagar on 20.06.16 at 5.10 PM and similar call was also received at PS
Rajouri Garden as the caller resides there. Hence Rajouri Garden Police met the
caller and it came to notice that the act of rape was committed in the
jurisdiction of PS Mianwali Nagar. Accordingly, the victim was got medically
examined. The call was entrusted to W/SI Sharmila. The counselling was
done immediately. The victim stated that her husband has extra marital affairs with a lady for the
last few days resulting in continuous dispute between them. She shared this
fact with her sister-in-law. One of her
known suggested her to take help from any astrologer or witchcraft for the
redressal. She came in contact of
one Ojha / Tantrik based in Jwala Puri, Delhi
Hence, she visited alone on 20.06.2016. Accused told her that she needed
to be performed a special exercise to exorcise herself. The accused started
molesting her. She opposed but he overpowered her and said that it is a must
for effective treatment. After that, she found herself unable to oppose his
nefarious/wicked activities. Then the accused made physical relations with her
forcefully. The accused also threatened her that the treatment would not be
effective if she discloses the above narration to anyone.
After that, she went to her
sister-in-law house at Rajouri Garden and narrated the whole story. Then she
dialed 100 numbers. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 276/16 u/s 376 IPC was
registered at P.S. Mianwali Naga. A team under the supervision of ACP/Punjabi Bagh- Sh. Ankit Chauhan (IPS) and
in leadership of Inspr. Mahesh Chand Meena -SHO/Mianwali Nagar conducted a raid
and arrested the accused.
During sustained interrogation, after
a little dodging, accused spewed out that he had committed rape. He used to claim
himself before the public as an exorcist and used to sell the normal mustard
oil as the oil for strengthening manhood.
Moreover, he used to add salt and sugar in mini packet to create an
illusion of magic. He was keeping various small books to show himself as an
highly learned. The above articles were seized. The accused was arrested and
the information has been sent to Delhi Legal Service Aid for requisite
compensation.
Further investigation is underway. The
staff involved in good work is being rewarded suitably.
RECOVERY
MADE: Mustard oil 21 mini bottle, packets of salt and
sugar in a polythene, Carpet (material evidence in rape).
However, Delhi Police is making all
out efforts for unearthing such swindlers/ quacks / exorcists. Yet, the general
public is hereby requested /appealed to extend kind co-operation in getting
apprehended such pretenders.
