DELHI UNIVERSITY’S GIRL STUDENT APPREHEND SNATCHER RED HANDED
A
2nd year student of Delhi University namely Rakhi caught one
snatcher red handed when the snatcher was trying to snatch her mobile. A case FIR No.336/2016 u/s 356/279/411/34 IPC dated 21.06.2016, PS
Maurya Enclave has been registered and accused Vasu has been arrested. His associate managed to flee leaving behind
the Scooty on which the duo had come to commit the crime.
INCIDENT
On
21.06.2015 Ms Rakhi reported that she had come to PCTI Institute, AP Block,
Pitampura, Delhi for her BA IInd year exams. At about 4:45 PM while she was walking towards
Kohat Enclave Metro Station after completing her exam, two boys riding on a Black
Colour Honda Activa came from behind and the pillion rider snatched her Mobile
Phone. The complainant girl reacted
swiftly with presence of mind and without showing any sign of fear grabbed the
pillion rider. In the little commotion,
the riders lost balance and the scooty fell to the ground. Thereafter, she overpowered
the pillion rider and with the help of some public persons recovered her Mobile
phone from his possession. Meanwhile,
the other accused driving Scooty escaped from the spot. The daring girl kept her clutches on the
pillion rider who was later identified as Vasu S/O Sh. Rajkumar R/O Mangol Puri. The local police promptly reached the spot and
on the basis of statement of the girl registered a case vide FIR No.336/16 u/s
356/279/411/34 IPC at PS Maurya Enclave.
The accused Vasu was arrested in the case. The scooty used in the crime was found to be
stolen from the area of PS North Rohini vide FIR No.016397/16 u/s 379 IPC.

ACCUSED
During
interrogation accused Vasu revealed that he has passed 10th class
from Govt. School, Mangolpuri and has also got training of Mobile phone repairing.
In order to earn easy and quick money,
he had entered the world of crime. He
has no previous involvement. The
associate of the accused has been identified and efforts are being made to
arrest him.
