INTERSTATE RACKET INVOLVED IN SMUGGLING OF CONTRABAND GANJA BUSTED WITH THE ARREST OF ONE PERSON.

Crime Branch has busted an interstate racket dealing in contraband ganja with the arrest of one drug trafficker namely Nitin Chauhan @ Raja (22 yrs) s/o Randhir Singh Chauhan r/o Vill. & PS Amanpur, Mohalla Dadwara, Distt. Kashgang, UP and recovered 38 kg ganja. The value of recovered contraband in international market is Rs.4 lac approximately. One car used for transportation of ganja has also been recovered.

TEAM & INCIDENT: -

        A team of officers of Special Team, Crime Branch led by ACP Jitender Singh comprising of Inspr. Satish Kumar, SI Karan Singh, ASIs Baljeet Singh, Shailender Singh, HCs Parveen, Dev Dutt, Ravinder, Cts Anand Pal, Ravi Khari, Sohan Lal, Deepak Malik and Dinesh was constituted under the guidance of DCP Dr. Rajiv Sharma to identify persons involved in large scale illegal smuggling of contraband Narcotic Drugs and Substances and unearth such rackets.

        The team so constituted, collected information through possible sources and identified certain persons. With the inputs received through possible sources & field work thereof, it was confirmed that Saleem and Gufral of Dallupura, East Delhi are running illegal business of ganja. It was further confirmed to the team that the said racket is smuggling ganja in bulk from Orissa. Further inputs were collected through possible means to establish, as to how & when the gang would be smuggled ganja in future. It was confirmed to the team that some members of the gang had gone to Orissa, who would smuggle ganja in bulk to Delhi. As such, the team further kept on gathering information with regard to movements of the gang to bust the racket.

        On 05.06.2016, the team received specific information that a car No.DL-9CW9900 was likely to reach or had reached at Palla Bakhtawer Road, Delhi with high quantity of ganja smuggled from Orissa via Aligarh, supplying the same to the prospective buyers. On this information, the team immediately swung into action and reached at the spot and professionally zeroed in on the target.

        At about 07.15 PM, after reccee and confirmation of facts, the team apprehended Nitin Chauhan and one car bearing No.DL 9CW9900 belonging to him was taken into possession for checking. This car was found containing two plastic kattas/bags containing ganja were seized from the car Dicci at the spot. Weight of recovered ganja was found to be 38 Kg. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.89/16 dated 05.06.16 u/s 20/25/29 NDPS Act. PS Crime Branch, Delhi was got registered and investigation was taken up.

        On interrogation, the accused disclosed that he used to supply ganja to the buyers which was brought from Saleem & Gufral of Aligarh UP, in his car Ford Fiesta, who are dealing in illegal smuggling and distribution of ganja in Delhi.

The recovered ganja was transported from Bhubaneswar, Orissa to Aligarh by trucks and from there by car. The recovered Ganja was to be delivered to somewhere in Punjab & Haryana. The accused further disclosed that the source of supply Saleem & Gufral are from Aligrah and Bhubaneswar, Orissa but their specific address/identify is to be yet established.

        Further, police remand of Nitin Chauhan has been obtained and raids are being conducted in search of Saleem and Gufral and other sources.

        Nitin Chauhan @ Raja (22 yrs) s/o Randhir Singh Chauhan r/o Vill. & PS Amanpur Mohalla Dadwara, Distt. Kashgang, UP. He is unmarried and is having one brother & one sister. He is residing with his mother at the above address of his nana’s house since last 10 years as his mother is separated from his father. He studied upto 12^th standard and was working in Hotel. He came in contact of Saleem later indulged in this illegal business.

RECOVERIES EFFECTED: -

1.           2 bags of ganja with total weight of 38 kg.

2.           One car bearing registration No. DL 9CW9900 used for illegal transportation of ganja in Delhi.
