The
Sleuths of AATS/SWD have busted a notorious & desperate gang of Burglars-cum-Thieves
with the arrest of (1) Kapil @ Kali S/o
Shankar Dutt R/o Mohan Garden Uttam Nagar New Delhi age 21 Years (2) Rahul @
Bhalu S/o Vinod R/o R-3/B-70, Mohan Garden Uttam Nagar New Delhi age 22 Yrs
and (3) Sonu Mathur S/o Ram Babu Mathur R/o R-3/B-76 Mohan Garden Uttam
Nagar New Delhi age 22 Yrs along with
receiver (4) Abhey
Verma @ Raj S/o
Prem Chand Verma R/o K-5/132, Gali No. 1, Vikrant Chowk Mohan Garden Uttam
Nagar New Delhi age 22 Yrs. The kingpin of the gang is Sonu Mathur who hails from Uttam
Nagar, Delhi and is a school dropout. Initially he committed petty thefts
and with the passage of time although being less educated he graduated in the
crime and constituted his own gang with
co-accused Rahul
@ Bhalu & Kapil @ Kali and committed bigger burglaries. The receiver Abhey Verma is very ambitious
person and was impressed by big jewellery houses. He wanted to earn quick money as he desired
to have his own manufacturing unit of gold & diamond jewellery and was very
fond of living a luxurious life style. The
gang was planning to arrange sophisticated weapons for executing bigger burglaries
to make quick money. The gang members lived life at its fullest and used to
visits Clubs, Pubs etc. and also used to regularly visit Goa and Hill Stations
etc. and were recently planning to spend full month in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
The trio rocked the area by series of burglary. The
accused persons have disclosed their involvement in about two dozen cases of
Burglary.
INFORMATION,OPERATION&TEAM:
Insp. Raj Kumar, AATS/South-West
was assigned the task to collect the criminal intelligence, arrest the
criminals and curb the crime with an iron hand. Hence series of efforts
were made including analyzing the modus operandi, on ground verification, CCTV
footages, technical surveillance, deployment of secret informers etc. On
11/06/16 secret information was received to HC Vijay Singh that at 3.00 PM the
accused persons will assemble near DDA Park,
Sec-13 Dwarka, New Delhi for committing some crime. Hence a team under
the supervision and leadership of Insp. Raj Kumar, AATS comprising of SI Manoj
Bhatia, SI Naresh, ASI Shyam Singh, ASI Shiv Kumar, HC Vijay Singh, HC Vinod,
HC Sanjay, HC Parminder, Ct Amit, Ct Ashok , Ct. Jagat Singh, Ct Subhash, Ct.
Rohitash was constituted. A trap was laid down and at about 3.45 PM in
front of DDA park sec-13 Dwarka New Delhi. At about 4.00 PM accused persons

Mathur, Kapil @ Kali, Rahul @ Bhalu and Abhey Verma @ Raj (receiver) arrived
there on Two Pulsar M/cycles,
Yamah Fazer M/cycle and one stolen Activa Scooty, who were apprehended by the
staff on the instance of the secret informer. Accused persons
disclosed their involvement in 21 incidents of night & day burglary and
motor vehicle theft, which have been worked out after their arrest. Heavy recovery has been affected from the
possession and instance of the accused persons.
