On receipt of a secret input regarding
desperate Highway Robbers who pose as officers of  Sales Tax and Excise Departments, the Special
Cell of Delhi police     has apprehended
two criminals namely 1) Nazim@ Pravesh age, 35yrs s/o Lt. Moh. Rafiq,  r/o Vill. Dabarsi,Distt. J.P. Nagar, UP along
with his associates namely (2) Rajan Tyagi, age 31 yrs, s/o Nonidh Singh, r/o
Vill. Dabarsi, Distt. J.P. Nagar, UP.
                   On
28.08.15, a secret information was received that two members of Nazim gang
ie.  Kingpin Nazim himself alongwith his
close associate Rajan Tyagi, who posed as Govt officials of the departments of
sales Tax and Excise Tax,  are involved
in highway robberies of  copper-wire
laden  vehicles, would come near Gagan
Cinema. On this information, ACP Amit Kumar Singh constituted  a team of officers of Special Cell led by
Inspector Dinesh Arya and was  despatched
to Gagan Cinema along with the informer. After sometime one of the robbers got
off from a public transport bus near Gagan Cinema and immediately on pointing
out by the informer, was taken into the custody. During questioning it was revealed
that he is Rajan Tyagi and his boss Nazim has stayed back at his house in
Sahibabad. On this revelation the team moved to DLF Sahibabad at Nazim’s House
where he was found. He tried to resist the arrest but was overpowered.
          The
sustained interrogation of both accused persons has led to disclosures that how
the gang identifies the potential victim and then they would study the routine
and pattern of delivery and dispatch of copper wire from the factory. When such
consignment leaves the factory premises and reaches a lonely stretch on highway
then the gang intercepts the loaded vehicle and after introducing themselves as
Tax officials, commands the driver to show the challan and other papers
regarding payment of  excise  duty. They would make the driver believe that
there is violations of rules and regulations and evasion of Government Taxes.
They would order the copper rolls laden vehicle to be taken to their office.
The nervous driver and cleaner are further scared by them at gun point and
asked to flee. The gang would then take the copper wires and abandon the
vehicle far away from the scene of crime. Some times, they would also abduct
the driver and cleaner also  and leave
them at isolated places. They have further revealed about their other associates named Rahul, Bharat ,
Saddam and Ashish, who are presently absconding.  Saddam is the real brother of Nazim.
