Conspiracy to Commit Contract (Supari) Killing of a Businessman Unearthed with Arrest of Three

Crime Branch has unearthed a conspiracy of contract killing of a businessman with the arrest of 3 accused persons namely (i) Ashu (21 yrs) s/o Mukesh r/o A-86, Gali No.31, South Ghamri, Near Som Bazar, 4½ Pusta, New Usman Pur, Delhi, (ii) Bharat (21 yrs) s/o late Mukesh Kumar r/o D-5/82, Vijay Colony, Gali No.1, Near Usmani Masjid, Pusta 3, New Usman Pur, Delhi and (iii) Kali Charan @ Kali Bhai @ Deepak (33 yrs) s/o Vijay Pal Singh r/o H.No. A- 116/28, Gali No.7, Near Pal Dharamshala, Punjabi Colony, South Ghamri, 4½ Pusta, Delhi. The accused Ashu and Bharat had come to commit murder of a businessman at Church Mission road MCD parking, in front of Old Delhi Railway Station. One sophisticated revolver of .32” alongwith 2 live cartridges, one pair of hand gloves and one motorcycle have been recovered from their possession.

          On 21.07.2015, secret information was received by Ct. Rakesh that two persons namely Ashu and Bharat will come on a black motorcycle at Church Mission Road MCD parking to kill a businessman. The information was further developed and a team of South Western Range led by ACP Kailash Chandra comprising Inspr. Atul Tyagi, HCs Virender, Sandeep, Cts. Hamender, Rakesh and Brijpal was constituted under the supervision of DCP Bhisham Singh and overall supervision of Addl.CP Alok Kumar to nab them. A trap was laid at Church Mission Road MCD parking, a Yamaha Fazer motorcycle was spotted on which two boys were riding. The motorcycle was signaled to stop by the team but the duo tried to flee away. However, they were nabbed after a short chase and were identified as Ashu and Bharat. On search, one sophisticated revolver of .32” alongwith 2 cartridges were recovered from the rider Ashu and one bag containing one pair of hand gloves recovered from the pillion rider Bharat.

          During the course of interrogation, the accused disclosed that they had come to commit a murder on instructions of one Deepak @ Kali Bhai, who had hatched the conspiracy alongwith the accused to kill a businessman. He had given the murder contract (Supari) for Rs.2 lac and also provided the recovered illegal weapon to Ashu. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.107/15 u/s 25 Arms Act and 120B IPC PS Crime Branch has been registered. During the proceedings of the case, one phone call of the said Kali Bhai was also received on the mobile phone of arrested accused Ashu with the query, “Ashu tumne murder kar diya kya ?”

          Subsequently during further investigation, accused Kali Charan @ Kali Bhai @ Deepak s/o Vijay Pal Singh was arrested on 22/7/2015, who disclosed that he had procured the recovered weapon from Etah, UP and had conspired alongwith the accused Ashu and Bharat to commit murder of Raj Kumar @ Raju r/o Mathura, UP due to non-payment of Rs. 1.80 lac by him.

1.            Accused Ashu has studied upto 12^th standard. He used to work as a money collector in the market for his employer. To meet his family needs, he had taken a loan of Rs. 50 thousand and he was in need of money to return the loan amount. Meanwhile, his friend Kali Charan @ Kali Bhai offered him contract of killing of Rajkumar @ Raju for Rs. 2 lac. He agreed for the same and also associated his childhood friend Bharat to accomplish the task.

2.            Accused Bharat was born in New Usman Pur area and has studied upto 12^th standard. His father has already expired. He is working as a class IV employee on contract basis at Shastri Bhawan. He is a childhood friend as well as classmate of Ashu. Due to close friendship and for making easy money, he agreed for contract killing of Rajkumar @ Raju. He had a pair of hand gloves in his possession during arrest which was to be used in commission of murder to avoid detection of fingerprints on the weapon.

3.            Accused Kali Charan @ Kali Bhai @ Deepak was born in South Ghamri, Delhi and he has studied upto 12^th standard. He had started to work as a delivery boy in Glodia Market, Lahori Gate area in 2007. Thereafter, he started job of money collection in market. In 2008, he also started his own trading business of Asafoetida (हींग(. During this business, Rajkumar @ Raju of Mathura, UP had purchased Asafoetida worth Rs. 2.10 lac from him and did not pay for that. On repeated demand, Rajkumar @ Raju paid him only Rs.30 thousand and refused to pay the remaining amount of Rs.1.80 lac. Annoyed with Rajkumar @ Raju, accused Kali Charan @ Kali Bhai decided to eliminate him and hired Ashu and Bharat for Rs. 2 lac to accomplish the task.
