Arrest Made in The Fake Website Case of Cheating Under The Guise Of Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Yojna

A team of officers of Crime Branch led by ACP K P S Malhotra and consisting of Inspr. Kulbir Singh, SIs Ritesh Kumar, Neeraj Kumar, Mandeep, Vishal Choudhary, Kuldeep, ASI Manoj, HCs Jai Parkash, Satish, Dinesh, Cts Lalaram, Vivek Tomar, Shailender, Ravi and Sachin under the supervision of DCP Bhisham Singh and over all supervision of Addl.CP Ashok Chand, has arrested second accused Snehangshu Jana (aged 31 yrs) s/o Radhakanta Jana r/o 230/3, Sharat Chatterjee Road, Howrah, West Bengal who was the technical assistant of the kingpin Sudipta Chatterjee and had created of the fake websites which were being projected as government websites.
INFORMATION & OPERATION:
Information was received that there is a fake website under the name of ‘Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Yojna’ that is offering loans for different projects and schemes with the aim of cheating the prospective beneficiaries on the pretext of providing them loans for different projects and schemes. The Crime Branch officials browsed the internet and found the fake website on the internet.  On the basis of the URL www.pmay-gov.in , details of the server were obtained.  It was found that the server was located in USA.  This confirmed that this website is a fake and not hosted by the Government of India. A case under the appropriate sections of law was registered.
The mastermind Sudipta Chatterjee (aged 43 yrs) S/o Sh Ram Chandra Chatterjee, R/o 41/8, Thakur Ram Krishna Lane, Howrah-4, West Bengal was apprehended by Crime Branch from Howrah on 17.01.15 and 20 mobile phones, hard disk, internet dongles, cheques related to 43 accounts, fake project reports and 16 Government office rubber stamps along with other incriminating evidence were recovered. 
The mastermind is Sudipta Chatterjee in this case and he was subjected to intensive interrogation and the name of the person who provided the technical help in creating and hosting the fake website surfaced as Snehangshu Jana.
During further investigation, his close associate Snehangshu Jana has been arrested. He has got a degree of B.Sc.(IT) and proficiency in multimedia especially website hosting. He came in contact with the mastermind in the year 2013 and they created and hosted the website with the domain name bharat-sarkar.in. He was employed by Sudipta Chatterjee to provide the technical assistance and to manage the data of the applicants, who had applied for loans for various schemes and projects after getting influenced with their fake promises. Snehangshu Jana had created other websites by the name of govindia.in, CGTMSE-govt.in and CGTMSE-gov.in. As per his disclosure, he was paid Rs. 50,000/- per month for the technical tasks being done by him.  Currently, he had established his separate business in IT security services.
He also disclosed that earlier in the year 2012, he was working in Siliguri with some IT based company and was drawing pay of Rs. 18,000/- per month. His elder sister-in-law, a divorcee, came in contact with Sudipta Chatterjee through some matrimonial site and they were in touch with each other through telecommunication means. Sudipta Chatterjee proposed her to shift the base from Siliguri to Howrah, so that he may help him in providing a better job. He had also employed Snehangshu’s sister and other relatives as telecallers. With the income earned from this, he was able to buy a flat in Howrah and live a lavish lifestyle.

Imposter IPS Officer Arrested; an Academic Who Became a Cheat to Realize His Dream Unfulfilled

A team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Rahul Sawhney and Sanjay Kumar has arrested a cheat who impersonated as an IPS officer to cheat several persons in Delhi. On 23/02/2015,one Kultar Singh,s/o Late Raj Singh, r/o F-10, Gali No.2, Krishna Park, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi who runs a shop dealing with sale purchase of mobile phones in Gaffar Market of Karolbagh, Delhi made a complaint stating therein that a person in the name of ‘Satheesh Nair’ who had introduced himself as an IPS officer of Jaipur, Rajasthan, had come to his shop on 30/01/2015 and had purchased two mobile phones in exchange of two old phones by paying an amount of money.
