Accused of Stealing 4 Branded Phones Arrested in New Delhi
On
22.01.2015, a complaint was received from one Ms Sujata Tamang that her mobile
phone has been stolen from “Burger King” in E-Block Connaught Place. Keeping in view the increasing incidents of
mobile thefts and snatching, SHO Connaught Place Mukesh Walia deputed several
teams in civil cloths in market areas including Janpath, Palika and Connaught
Place. During this process CCTV footage was
also checked and accused persons were noticed committing the theft. SHO
Connaught Place Mukesh Walia analyzed the CCTV footage and took picture of
accused on his mobile phone. The picture of the suspect was circulated to all
the beat staff of Police Station Connaught Place through “WhatsApp.” Accordingly beat constable Ravinder No.
7126/ND succeeded to apprehend accused Sagar S/o Vijay R/o H.No. 6649, Gali No.
15, Hanuman Mandir, Navi Karim, New Delhi. He is being rewarded. Recently Spl. CP/L&O also directed that
Police officers must take the aid of technology including “WhatsApp.”

Accused
Sagar S/o Vijay (22 years) R/o H.No. 6649, Gali No. 15, Hanuman Mandir, Navi
Karim, New Delhi belongs to educated middle class family and is fond of Pop
Panjabi music and gets names of singers tattooed on his body. He fell into bad company and started consuming
alcohol. During the course of investigation he disclosed that he operated in
busy markets like Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, New Delhi Railway Station and
Goal Market. He usually chose girls as his target in these markets.
