Most Wanted Rs. 1 Lakh Rewardee from Mewat Region Gangster Mohd. Inam Arrested
A joint team of Special Cell, Delhi Police led by
Inspector Shiv Kumar and SHO/Barsana and SHO/Vrindavan of Mathura District, UP
Police under the supervision of DCP/Spl. Cell Sh. Pramod Kushwah and Shri Satyavir Singh, ACP/Special Cell, has
arrested one of the most wanted from
Mewat region gangster Mohd. Inam after an encounter at Hathiya
Village of Barsana, Mathura and recovered two semi-automatic pistols of 9 MM
with 19 live cartridges and a robbed Tata Sumo. Inam was wanted in a
sensational kidnapping case of one businessman of Gujrat alongwith his servant
from Old Delhi Railway Station on the pretext of scrap dealing vide FIR No.
11/15 dated 03.02.2015 u/s 342/364A/395/120B IPC registered at PS Crime Branch,
Delhi. A reward of Rs. 1 Lakh was declared by Delhi Police on the arrest of
this Mewat region gangster Mohd. Inam
s/o Zareel Khan r/o Village Rupadka, Distt. Palwal, Haryana.
INCIDENT
On 03.02.2015, information was received telephonically from wife of the
businessman that her husband had left Ahmedabad for Delhi by Ashram Express on
02.02.2015. The train had reached Delhi on 03.02.2015 at around 11:30 AM,
she further informed that she had received a call on her telephone from her
father-in-law i.e. businessman’s father based in London (UK) that her husband
had been kidnapped and the kidnappers are demanding Rs 1 Crore as ransom for
his release. She further stated that her husband’s employee who was
accompanying him, had also been kidnapped. On this information, the above said
case was registered and investigation was taken up by a team of Crime Branch.
The Crime Branch rescued the businessman from the area of Fatehpuri, Chandni
Chowk, Delhi and arrested seven accused persons. Two of the accused persons
including Mohd. Inam who were involved in the above said kidnapping for ransom,
were absconding. A reward of Rs. 1 Lakh was announced by Delhi Police on the
arrest of Mohd. Inam.
OPERATION
Sensing the gravity of the case, the Special Cell took
up the challenge and started developing the information regarding the case.
Sources were deployed in and around Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar
Pradesh. A special dedicated team was constituted for the uphill task. After
sincere and painstaking efforts, the team was able to extract the vital information
that gangster Mohd. Inam from mewat region was hiding in village Hathiya of
Distt. Mathura, UP in the house of his maternal uncle. On this information, a
joint raiding team including Special Cell/Delhi Police, PS Vrindavan and
PS/Barsana laid a trap in village Hathiya, PS Barsana, Mathura, UP at about
03:45 PM. Meanwhile, a specific input was received from a source that the
target alognwith 5-6 persons was sitting in a Tata Sumo and planning to move
towards Rajasthan to commit some crime. As soon as the teams of Delhi Police
and UP Police surrounded the Tata Sumo and warned the occupants to surrender,
they opened fired at the police which the teams of UP Police and Delhi Police
retaliated in their self-defense. The teams were able to apprehend one of the
occupant who was identified later on as Mohd. Inam s/o Zareel Khan r/o Village
Rupadka, Distt. Palwal, Haryana, wanted in case FIR No. 11/15 u/s
342/364A/395/120 B IPC of PS Crime Branch, Delhi. Soon after that, a large
crowd gathered and surrounded the police teams. They assaulted the teams with
Lathis and also pelted stones. Some of the officers of Delhi Police and UP
Police sustained blunt injuries and some of them also were hit by bullets in
their bullet proof jackets in the firing by miscreants. The villagers of nearby
two villages also joined them. At one point of time both the teams having 50
officers/men (appx.) was trapped. SHO/Barsana flashed a message to Distt.
Control Room/Mathura and senior officers and asked for re-enforcement. Soon,
the SHO’s of 12 police stations of Distt. Mathura alongwith their teams reached
the spot and joined the operation. Only thereafter the teams were able to leave
the place safely alongwith the target. In the meantime, there had been constant
exchange of fire between the villagers and the police teams till the
re-enforcement reached the spot. The police teams continued firing on
intermittent intervals in order to deter the villagers. Had it not been so,
they could have been lynched and the target could have been rescued by the
villagers. The teams, particularly those who reached the spot first and
apprehended the target, displayed exemplary courage and swooped upon the
gangsters, without caring for their
lives.
