SIM Card led to solve a blind murder Case

A team of PS V.K. North, South District worked out blind murder case of a youngster and arrested close friend namely Om Dutt  Mishra (age 25 years) r/o Jhuggi D-8, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi and recovered mobile phone of deceased.

Brief facts :

              On 26.10.15, a PCR call was received that someone has thrown dead body of a person at the stairs of A-35, Masoodpur Village, New Delhi.  Immediately, SI Sandeep Yadav along with staff reached the spot.  Meanwhile, Sh. K.P. Kukreti, ACP/Vasant Vihar and Inspr. Virender Sejwan, SHO/V.K. North also reached the spot and found that dead body of unknown person was lying on the stairs.  On search, a SIM Card was recovered from the pocket of deceased.  On physical inspection of the dead body, cause of death could not be ascertained.  Local enquiries were made but there was no eye witness or clue about the deceased. 

              During inquest proceeding, details of recovered SIM card were verified and deceased was identified as Rahul Kumar Chaudhary (age 25 years) r/o VPO Babhni, PS Gamharia, District Madhepura, Bihar.  Accordingly, a police team was dispatched at the native place of deceased and it was revealed by family that deceased was working with a Tour & Travel Office in Gurgaon and was residing at A-1/3, Khandsa Road, Gurgaon. Sh. Rajesh Kumar, cousin of deceased get his statement recorded that he was residing with Rahul at his room.  He informed that deceased Rahul had told him that on 07.09.15, he along with his friend Om Dutt Mishra had taken the Company’s vehicle without permission of his employer to enjoy a party in Farruknagar, Gurgaon.  On way back to office, Om Dutt Mishra was driving the car and met with an accident.  They got the vehicle repaired and approximately Rs. 50,000/- were paid by Om Dutt Sharma from his own pocket.  Since then, Om Dutt Sharma pressing / threatening him to pay half of the amount i.e. Rs. 25,000/- to him as compensation, which he did not pay and started avoiding his phone calls.  On the statement of Rajesh Kumar, a case vide FIR No. 1029/15 u/s 302/201 IPC was registered at PS V.K. North and investigation was taken up. 

Investigation :

              In order to locate the accused Om Dutt Sharma, a police team comprising SI Pradeep Rawat, SI Sandeep Yadav and Ct. Sanjay led by Inspr. Virender Sejwan, SHO/V.K. North and under the supervision of Sh. K.P. Kukrety, ACP/Vasant Vihar was formed.  During investigation, the police team developed criminal intelligence and deployed sources to get the clues about accused Om Dutt Mishra and it was found that accused Om Dutt Mishra was residing somewhere in Masoodpur, New Delhi.  On 05.11.15, the police team arrested accused Om Dutt Sharma from Masoodpur.  On search, mobile phone of deceased was recovered from his possession.

Interrogation :

              During interrogation, accused confessed to have committed the murder of Rahul Kumar.  Accused disclosed that he was annoyed with deceased Rahul as he was not paying Rs. 25,000/- as share of car damage and was avoiding his phone calls.  Accused further disclosed that as pre-planned manner he called deceased in Masoodpur on 26.10.15 to enjoy drinking.  They consumed liquor in a park in Vasant Kunj and offered excessive drink to deceased to get him intoxicated.  At about 8 pm, he took deceased to his room in Masoodpur and when Rahul became unconscious, he murdered him by electrocution.  When he confirmed that Rahul is dead, he took the dead body to dispose it somewhere-else.  While leaving the house, he sensed presence of someone.  Hence, he left the dead body on stairs and ran away.

              Om Dutt Mishra (age 25 years) r/o Jhuggi D-8, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi has studied upto 12^th class.  He is native of District Sultanpur, UP.
