A gang of robbers cum snatchers busted

A team of  PS V.K. South, South District has arrested two accused namely Avinash @ Jaanu (age 21 years) r/o Savitri Nagar, Delhi and Puneet Sagar (age 22 years) r/o Savitri Nagar, Delhi and recovered 3 stolen motor cycles and 1 mobile phone.  With the arrest of accused persons, 6 cases of snatching, robbery and M.V. theft worked out.

Brief facts :

          In order to prevent the incidents of snatching, robbery and M.V. theft in the area of PS V.K. South, patrolling and picketing was strengthened.  Many police teams were formed to gear up their resources to get clues about the active criminals in the area.  On 05.11.15, secret information was received regarding movement of two robbers on motor cycle at NH-8 near Radisson Hotel.  Accordingly, a police team comprising SI Rakesh Sharma, SI Raj Kumar, HC Ritesh, Ct. Ashok, Ct. Devender, Ct. Rahul and Ct. Interjeet under the supervision of Inspr.  Virender Jain, SHO/V.K. South and supervision of Sh. K.P. Kukrety, ACP/Vasant Vihar was formed and checking of vehicles was started at NH-8 near Radisson Hotel.  At about 9.30 pm, the police team signaled a motor cycle to stop for checking.  The motorcyclists instead of stopping; accelerated the speed to escape from the spot but the alert members of police team acted swiftly and overpowered both motorcyclists.  They were identified as Avinash @ Jannu and Puneet Sagar.  When they were asked to produce the documents of motor cycle, they could not produce the same rather tried to mislead the police team.  On verification, the motor cycle was found to be stolen from the area of PS V.K. North vide FIR No. 17361/15 u/s 379 IPC.  Subsequently, both accused were arrested and stolen motor cycle was seized.

Interrogation :

          During interrogation, both accused disclosed to have committed many incidents of snatching, robbery and auto lifting in South Delhi and Gurgaon.  They further disclosed that they used to steal a motor cycle and use the same in commission of snatching / robbery.  They used to target the person walking along at road side and rob of their mobile phones and purses.  After using the motor cycle in crime, they used to park the same at safe places in parking so that they could use the same further in crime.  At the instance of accused, 2 stolen motor cycles and 1 mobile phone was recovered.

3.   FIR No. 1732/15 u/s 392/34 IPC PS Malviya Nagar.

4.   FIR No. 921/15 u/s 356/379 IPC PS V.K. South.

5.   FIR No. 414/09 u/s 379 IPC PS Sadar, Gurgaon.

6.   FIR No. 13485/15 u/s 379 IPC PS V.K. South.

Profile of accused persons :

1.   Avinash @ Jaanu (age 21 years) r/o Savitri Nagar, Delhi is pursuing graduation from Open School in Delhi.  He came in the contact of bad elements and started taking drugs.  Initially, he was committing petty offences to cater the expenses.  Later, he engaged with him Puneet Sagar and started committing robbery, snatching and auto lifting.  He is the History Sheeter of PS Malviya Nagar.  He is previously involved in 8 criminal cases.

2.   Puneet Sagar (age 22 years) r/o Savitri Nagar, Delhi is pursuing graduation from Open School in Delhi.    He came in contact with accused Avinash and joined him in the crime to earn quick money.

2.   1 mobile phone (make Lava)
