22.5 Crore Cash Van Misappropriation Worked Out within 12 Hours with Complete Recovery
With the arrest of
Pradeep Shukla S/o Raj Narayan Shukla r/o H.No. 1882, Jagram Mandir, Kotla
Mubarakpur, New Delhi the biggest misappropriation ever from a cash van in the
history of Delhi Police has been worked out by the team of South-East District.
On 26.11.2015 a PCR
call at 5:48 pm was received at P.S. Okhla Industrial Area regarding theft of
cash from the Cash Van. After receiving this call/information ACP/Kalkaji along
with SHO/OIA reached at the place of incident i.e. Near Govind Puri Metro
Station , Maa Anand Mai Marg. In the
meantime senior officers also reached at the place of incident. The Cash
Delivery Van bearing No. DL-1LK-9189 was found parked there but no cash was
found inside the Van. Local enquiry was conducted into the matter and one
Dinesh Kumar was examined who gave his written complaint stating therein that
he is working Branch Manager in SIS Cash Services which is engaged in the
business of depositing cash in Private as well Govt. ATMs. On 26/11/2015 cash
van bearing No. DL1LK-9189 driven by Pradeep Kumar Shukla from B-26 Okhla
Phase-1 along with Gunman Vinay Kumar Patel left from Vikaspuri collecting nine
boxes containing Rs. 22,50,00,000/- for their Okhla office. At about 3.41 Gunman Vinay Kumar Patel
de-boarded the Van for attending natures call and during this period Pardeep
Kumar Shukla fled with vehicle No. DL-1LK-9189 containing cash from there. When
the Gunman Vinay Kumar called him over his phone, he made an excuse that
Traffic police is not allowing him to park and after sometime the driver
switched off his mobile phone. Gunman Vinay Kumar reached at his Okhla office
at about 4.30 PM and narrated the incident to the Branch Incharge Anand Kumar.
After searching they found the abandoned cash van near Govind Puri Metro
Station and the police was informed.
Accused PERSON: Pradeep Kumar Shukla S/o Sh. Raj Narayan Shukla, R/o H.No.1882,
Jagram Mandir, Kotla Mubarakpur, New Delhi.
Keeping
in view of the gravity of the offence, a special team consisting of Sh. Jasbir
Singh ACP/Kalkaji, Shri Ashok Saroha ACP/Operations, Inspr. Naresh Solanki
SHO/Okhla Indl. Area, Inspr. Naresh Kumar, Inspr. Spl. Staff/SED, Inspr. Arvind
Kumar SHO/Amar Colony, Inspr. Maninder SHO/Sarita Vihar, Inspr. Mukesh Kumar, Inspr.
AATS, SI Manmeet Malik, SI Gurjeet, SI Sanjeev , SI Rajender Dagar, SI Jitender
Malik, HC Jitender, Ct. Narender Malik was constituted under the supervision of
Shri Vijay Kumar Addl. DCP-I/SE & Shri Pranav Tayal Addl. DCP-II/SE under overall
supervision of the undersigned.
During
the course of investigation, address of accused Pardeep was found as H. No.
1882, Jagram Mandir, Kotla Mubarakpur, New Delhi. Raids were conducted at the
given address and it was found that he was not living at this address. During
further investigation it was found that his Permanent Address is Lehsani,
Bhawnoli, PS-Nagra, Post-Lehsani, Distt.-Balia, UP. His wife’s address was
found as Village-Itora, Distt.-Mau, UP. Several teams were sent to conduct
raids at his native place and relatives and other possible hideouts. Secret
teams were deployed to keep vigil over the known and relatives of the accused.
The
entire area where vehicle was found was thoroughly searched. Considering the
fact that such a big amount and huge boxes could not be carried too fast and
too far away, the whole area was combed. During such search operation and based
on human input, a raid was conducted at a godown in the area of Okhla
Industrial Area and the accused was found alongwith the case property at the
spot where he was planning to run away with cash.
RECOVERY:

Case property i.e. 9 boxes
containing amount approx. Rs. 22,50,00,000/- along with Cash Van bearing No.
DL-1LK-9189.
